A punk with a sampler, a nurse on a mission, a skinhead with a thirst - these three big-hearted locals just want to be left alone to live their lives to the scorching sounds of the Herbert Hi-Fi, but events are clouding their moods. When two friends look sure to clash in deadly fashion, a monster steps out of the shadows and romance looms in the shape of someone who may or may not have been abducted by aliens, some tough decisions are needed. And these decisions will have consequences. London Country is an upbeat tale from the margins. Out here, different rules apply. Anything is possible.

The following study is based in large part on "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Pastor Bonhoeffer's work is insightful into the kind of instruction we would expect Christ to have given the original twelve disciples to prepare them for the work God gave them. Bonhoeffer became a martyr for Christ during the Holocaust of World War 2, a time when pure evil seemed unstoppable. We are living again in a precarious time of societal unrest, class division, and, probably most threatening, an organized, political, attack on the institution of the church. The Bible singles out Christianity-as the name implies-as a Christ-centric way of life which now comes into conflict with a growing global opposition to both the moral principles Jesus endorsed as well as the freedom believers in Christ exercise in serving Him. From the public displays of religious devotion to God to their outspoken promotion of teachings and traditions that conflict with a society becoming more and more secular, believers are being marginalized as social outcasts and even, in some cases, criminals. We know there is a cost to being a disciple of Christ. Daniel is walking close to the lion's den because of his love for God. To quote Peter, "we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard" [Acts 4:20].

Part pocket guide, part history, and part architectural primer, the companion piece to urban design critic John King's Cityscapes: San Francisco and Its Buildings contains all of the wit and wonder of the first installment. In epigrammatic prose and with detailed full-color photographs, King highlights fifty structures that tell the story of San Francisco through architecture. Included are emblematic buildings such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, and the Palace of Fine Arts; but King pays just as close attention to less celebrated structures that embody the politics, architectural fads, and cultural values of the eras in which they were conceived. A fresh take on the familiar, Cityscapes 2 shows us how to read the structures around us as signposts and translations for the story of a multilayered and ever-changing city.

Buildings in cities are remarkable things: they provide not only shelter but touchstones of reference and recall, a language that shapes our sense of place as well as the skyline. In sparkling prose and with full-color photography, Cityscapes looks at fifty buildings that convey a distinct slice of San Francisco. These are the buildings that are defined by bold visual moves and the ones that offer tactile delight. These are the structures you notice every time you pass by, and the ones that escape notice until the light hits them a certain way. Included are some of San Francisco's most familiar buildings and works by some of architecture's biggest names-but also plenty of buildings that are often ignored yet add a unique texture to this fabled place. An outgrowth of "Cityscape," a weekly column that debuted in the San Francisco Chronicle in 2009, Cityscapes is part history, part guidebook, and part architectural primer. And the points it makes about specific buildings convey something true to all great cities-that every building shines in its own way as a distinctive piece in a much larger puzzle, one still being assembled before our eyes.

""The Other Side of the Story: Being Some Reviews Criticizing the Story of the Upper Canadian Rebellion"" is a historical book written by John King and originally published in 1886. The book provides an alternative perspective on the Upper Canadian Rebellion, which took place in 1837-1838 and was a failed attempt by rebels to overthrow the British colonial government in Upper Canada.King's book is a collection of reviews and critiques of other historical accounts of the rebellion, which he argues are biased and incomplete. He focuses on the actions and motivations of the rebels, as well as the role of the government and military in suppressing the rebellion. King also examines the social and economic conditions that led to the rebellion, including the grievances of farmers and the influence of American republicanism.Overall, ""The Other Side of the Story"" challenges traditional narratives of the Upper Canadian Rebellion and offers a more nuanced and critical perspective on this important moment in Canadian history. Also The Letters In The Mackenzie-Rolph Controversy, And A Critique On The New Story. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
