One of my friends who lives in Hawaii on Molokai Island whose job is to fly Japanese Tourists around the Hawaiian Islands in his own Amphibious Twin Engine aircraft sent me joking email at Christmas time 2015: He said, "Jon, if I win the lottery, I will buy a Lear Jet and as a unique Christmas Present, I will pick you and your wife up at the Santa Barbara airport near where you live in Lompoc and fly you anywhere you want around the world. Just give me the departure date and itinerary of what cities around the world you want to visit and we will be off." After careful consideration of where I would choose to go, I wrote this book about the dream trip of a lifetime for an old private pilot. Come along with us as we fly around the world in a LearJet starting from Santa Barbara, California, going to Florida, Washington DC, NYC, Malaga, Spain, London, Moscow, St Petersburg, Sydney, Shanghai, Taipei, and Peking. Then we returned through London and back to Santa Barbara.

This book includes a wealth of ideas that an individual can use to make changes in his or her life style to extend his or her life span. Results are presented of the latest research and studies on how to remain healthy and vigorous as you grow old. In other words, it gives ways you can extend your life expectancy. The major threats to a happy healthy life for the aging individual are strokes (clogging of the arteries that feed the brain) and heart failure and Alzheimer's (advanced dementia in which the sufferer can not even recognize his or her own spouse or other members of the family). Specific changes in diet and exercise routines will make you feel much younger than your age.

Bullet train may refer to: 1964 Shinkansen, Japan 130 mph This new line between Tokyo and Osaka provided the first regular service operating at speeds above 100 mph. The Shinkansen's aerodynamic design earned it the nickname "bullet train." 1981 TGV, France 161.6 mph When this high-speed rail opened, it became the fastest regularly running line in the world, shuttling passengers 264 miles between Paris and Lyon in just 2 hours, 40 minutes. 2004Shanghai Maglev, Chin 267 mph The fastest passenger train in the world, this line zips from Pudong International Airport to Shanghai via an electromagnetic reaction created between the cars and the tracks. 2007 TGV, France 367 mph A souped-up, 25,000-hp TGV with oversize wheels holds the current record for non-maglev trains. Journalists on the title run reported dizziness at 300 mph and difficulty standing at around 335 mph. Believe it: Bullet trains are coming. After decades of false starts, planners are finally beginning to make headway on what could become the largest, most complicated infrastructure project ever attempted in the US. The Obama administration got on board with an $8 billion infusion, and more cash is likely en route from Congress. It's enough for Florida and Texas to dust off some previously abandoned plans and for urban clusters in the Northeast and Midwest to pursue some long-overdue upgrades. The nation's test bed will almost certainly be California, which already has voter-approved funding and planning under way. But getting up to speed requires more than just seed money. For trains to beat planes and automobiles, the hardware needs to really go fast on rails. Officials are pushing to deploy state-of-the-art rail rockets. Next stop: the future. 1964 Shinkansen, Japan 130 mph This new line between Tokyo and Osaka provided the first regular service operating at speeds above 100 mph. In Iran during the time of the Shah, the American engineer, Brad Kelly, found himself involved in intrigues with the US CIA, the Iranian SAVAK, the Israeli MOSSAD, and the KGB of the old Soviet Union. Like many other American engineers and technicians working on SECRET projects in those days, Brad found cooperative females at every turn. It seemed to come with the overseas assignments. IBEX relates what impact electronic spying can have on world events.

When I was an Aerospace Executive responsible for overseas sales to Iran and Israel, I had to do a lot of overseas travel by airliner so I wanted to write this book, to learn how airline travel has improved since the mid 1980s. Later the vice-president to whom I reported offered me the Israeli business if I was willing to form my own company. I eagerly accept his offer and established a company specializing in designing Guidance and Control Systems for Military Aircraft, which was basically funded by the profits from the Israeli business. One of the consulting contracts of my company was to spend several months in Taiwan, designing a new guidance and control system for their new Ultra Fighter Aircraft to help defend them against their enemies at that time. ch less expensive than conventional (old-fashioned) At the Autonetics Division of Rockwell I was Chief Engineer responsible for the F111 Avionics system built by General Dynamics - Fort Worth with Avionics supplied by Autonetics. This avionic system included a fly-by wire system with duplicate Airborne Computers to perform all the computations required by the Avionics systems, including the first GPS installed on a military aircraft. A second reason I wanted to write this book is that I learned that the Dreamliner has some of the features first used on the F111 for which I designed the Guidance and Control. This book includes a description of the similar features used by the Dreamliner. I realize that the advent of Nanotechnology used in the Dreamliner electronics, makes it quite different than the electronics of the F111 time period. For example, GPS navigation is included as a function on handheld smartphones in the nanotechnology era rather a PC computer sized box used on the F111. Another important factor is cost: nanotechnology electronics are muelectronics.

Israeli business entrepreneur, Dani Sharon, is recruited by his government's clandestine LEKEM to mastermind acquiring the components and technology to build a nuclear arsenal. Dani's flamboyant character and tactical brilliance make him a natural for the assignment. His only stipulation in accepting the task is that he be allowed to skim a profit off all his transactions to finance his movie ventures. Dani obtains the necessary material and information through extralegal and clandestine methods. He cuts numerous deals with European, South African, and American companies. What he can't buy, he steals in daring capers monitored by the superpowers. Within a short time Israel explodes its first atom bomb. However, soon after this success, Israeli leaders realize radioactive fallout would endanger their own population if the atom bomb were used against hostile Arab neighbors. They conclude a neutron bomb is necessary to protect the Israelis from this danger. Using a movie production company as a cover, Dani begins acquiring the technology for such a bomb and the ballistic missile to deliver it.

We all grow old and retire. Then we must to live on Social Security and Retirement Pensions. Some may want to move from their present home and acquire one more suitable to their retirement situation. It is important to keep your mind active. Studies show Alzheimer's can be avoided by keeping an active brain. Also you need to adopt a daily exercise routine to keep your body active. For example: before breakfast in house exercising such as bend-overs and pushups following the US Air Force exercise routine. After breakfast jog or walk at least a mile per day. After retirement you have time to learn new ways to invest and you have more time to analyze your investment. Your author learned to do weekly options trading which will keep your brain working and generate weekly income. Chapter 12 describes a low cost options trading software from the author. Avoid expensive foods. Your author converted to a vegetarian diet obtaining protein from beans and nuts rather than meat. Studies have shown that vegetarians are healthier and live longer than meat eaters. Another reason for switching from meat to vegetarian is it costs less which helps cope with your retirement income. Participate in travel activities such as local bus tours, visiting friends and family by automobile, attending school alumni gatherings, and budget tour boat trips. Consider personal transportation modes such as electric cars or smaller cars with good mileage.

With the monthly income from US Social Security one can retire to other countries and live like a very wealthy person compared with the other inhabitants of the country. I started this book by citing Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea. But on 1 January 2017 I received an email citing other countries where your Social Security income would allow you to live like a wealthy person. So I expanded the book to include the countries below. The book includes a town in California. - Granada, Nicaragua - Hangzhou, China - Morelia, Mexico - Cuenca, Ecuador - Thailand - Vietnam - The Philippines - Malaysia

Emile Manns Smyth took: HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION (HOC), a course offered at Occidental College, while earning her BA in Education. This course, which was a outstanding review of what happened during different time periods as civilization evolved was well remember by her and other OXY alumni who took the same course. Unfortunately, this course is no longer offered by OXY, so I felt it important to document the topics covered in this course, so future students will understand what they missed by not having such a course at OXY or other Universities around the world. Emilie hopes to give copies of this Published Book to her fellow alumni during the June 2012 Alumni celebrations a Occidental College. The HOC course was comprised of Professors giving lectures on relevant topics during the time period of that part of the course. I The time periods started with the Pre-historic, Cretian, Egyptian, Chinese, Roman, Grecian, Biblical, Moslems in Spain, Middle Ages (1500's), Inquisition, Crusades, Global Exploration (1992- 1600s), Renaissance, Rise of Cites, Revolutionary Period (1800s), Industrial Revolution, (1800-1900), Modern Civilization (1900-Present)-

I successfully created a DVD Movie: - Using a Power Point presentation with the Audio Recorded with a Microphone - Using Cam Studio software to record several Video Clips - Importing these Clips to Win Movie Maker and saving the Movie as a Video - Then Burning a Disk Using Win DVD Maker This book describes how to perform all of the tasks necessary to end up with a published DVD. I learned how to do it by creating two Movies and Disks suitable for publishing. I must confess I made many mistakes ending up with unacceptable DVDs before successfully saving my subject matter using the Win Movie Maker. This saved Movie was then used to create a DVD suitable for publishing. It took me several months of trial and error before arriving at the proper procedure to use to obtain the final publishable DVD. This book shows you the proper steps and procedures to use so you can create a DVD using your material that will be suitable for publishing by your selected DVD publisher. The DVD can be published by Create Space (or another internet DVD publisher, if there is one) using their DVD setup program:

  • - Around the World Catamaran Race

    677,95 kr.

A select group of world-class yachtsmen prepare for the Round-the-World Multihull Race, a test to determine not only the best go-fast design but also who is the world's greatest skipper. The challengers have known each other through years of Grand Prix and Olympic sailing competitions. Ronny Kelly, amiable and clever Californian, Paoli Venuzzi, who secretly cheated Kelly out of the gold at the Barcelona Olympics, and the Frenchman Phillippe Matin, holder of many cross-Atlantic speed records, emerge as the top contenders. Their efforts are bankrolled by a variety of international corporations plus a Mafia backed bank. The Mafia schemes to collect millions in gambling and drug peddling profits by pressuring their skipper to smuggle cocaine and to arrange "accidents" during the race. As the race proceeds, the Mafia become more and more desperate to recoup their gambling losses and their attempts become much more than "accidents."

Your author decided to write this book about Human Evolution after seeing a Science Program about Evolution on KCET, the Public Service TV Station in the Los Angeles area. I was impressed with the amount of research going on in this area trying to find out where we, Homosapiens, came from. I decided to use the Google and Yahoo search engines to find out the latest probes which I used for this book. I have included the many reference sources so the reader can visit these Internet accounts to keep up with what is happening after this book is published. In other words, this is a snapshot-in-time report of what is happening research-wise at the end of the first decade of the 21st Century.

Your author designed Guidance and Control Systems for advanced military aircraft for two decades in the 1970's and 80's. He was the designer of the first Fly-By-Wire Aircraft (e.g., F-111) which used a Dither Self-Adaptive Control System for adjusting the Flight Control Parameters during Terrain Following Missions or High Altitude Missions. I noted the success Fly-by-Wire Drones were having in destroying Al-Qaeda Terrorists in Pakistan and Yemen. This book is based on my knowledge of Fly-By-Wire Aircraft plus information obtained by sifting thru Internet data. There has been a true revolution using Fly by Wire and Dither Adaptive techniques in all new flying machines. The aircraft of today use Nanotechnology Computers and Sensors for the software in private aircraft, military fighters, and airliners. This book describes the new global fighter aircraft: the F-35 Lightning II

Your author's aerospace career was founded on working on systems to counter the USSR Cold War systems. Such Cold War work was a big push for the US, European, Asian, and Russian economies. I lived in Spain when the Soviet Union collapsed and was surprised by the large number of Russians who migrated to Spain. For example, the Concert Mistress of the Malaga Symphony Orchestra and 30% of the members of the orchestra were Russians who had migrated to Malaga, Spain, after the Soviet collapse. I found myself wondering how the Cold War had pitted two such civilized communities against each other. I found the Russians in Spain were such nice people, and asked myself, "Why would Americans want to eliminate Russians?" I had traveled throughout the world working on tasks required by the Cold War. I had been everywhere except Russia. Now I wanted to take a cultural tour of Russia. I had viewed many Russian ballets performed in the US and Europe and had the desire to learn more about the former enemy of the Cold War. I emphasized the musical culture of Russia in this book. However, to give a more complete picture I also included a chapter on US-Russian relations and another on the Russian Space Programs.

Osama bin Laden, the face of global terrorism and architect of the September 11, 2001, attacks, was killed in a firefight with elite American forces on Monday (1 May 2011 Pakistani time which was 2 May 2011 Washington, DC, time), then quickly buried at sea in a stunning finale to a furtive decade on the run. Long believed to be hiding in caves, bin Laden was tracked down in a costly, custom-built hideout not far from a Pakistani military academy. The stunning news of his death prompted relief and euphoria outside the White House and around the globe, yet also fears of terrorist reprisals against the United States and its allies. "Justice has been done," President Barack Obama said in a dramatic announcement at the White House. The military operation took mere minutes, and there were no U.S. casualties. U.S. helicopters ferried troops from Navy SEAL Team Six, a top military counter-terrorism unit, into the compound identified by the CIA as bin Laden's hideout - and back out again in less than 40 minutes. Bin Laden was shot in the head, officials said, after he and his bodyguards resisted the assault. Three adult males were also killed in the raid, including one of bin Laden's sons, whom officials did not name. One of bin Laden's sons, Hamza, is a senior member of al-Qaeda. U.S. officials also said one woman was killed when she was used as a shield by a male combatant, and two other women were injured. The U.S. official who disclosed the burial at sea said it would have been difficult to find a country willing to accept the remains. Obama said the remains had been handled in accordance with Islamic custom, which requires speedy burial.

I attended the Caltech Seminar Day on 16th May 09 and heard a lecture: Quantum Information Science presented by Professor J Preskill. His lecture had a number of slides showing how the three dimensions of Quantum states function. He mentioned Quantum Computers as the next step in computer science from the classical transistor based digital computers which have made such a change in the life of modern day humans. Since I have a deep interest in computer science based on my professional experience: designing Avionics systems for military aircraft which were the first to use digital computers, Teaching Computer Science as an adjunct assistant professor to graduate students, Designing and fabricating small digital computers in a small company I decided I needed to learn about Quantum Computers and where research is going in this important new technology. The way I discovered the status of Quantum Computer is using the Google & Yahoo search engines. I was happy that Indiana University and Caltech have active Quantum Computer Research programs in progress. Jon Schiller holds a BS in Physics from Caltech and a PhD from the University of Southern California in EE & Mathematics. He has authored: 21st Century Cosmology

There is a growing political interest in same-sex marriages with four USA states approving such unions and other states disallowing such marriages. This book is dedicated to those gay and lesbian couples who find each other, fall in love, and decide to consummate their love in legal same-sex marriages. The five couples described in this book were married in San Francisco, which at one time was legal. Pending the legal challenges to Proposition 8, which disallowed same sex marriages, the future status of same-sex marriage in California is undetermined at this time. These gay love stories cover five couples who were married and represent a wide range of highly educated gay couples: 4 male couples and one female couple. One tale relates how an elderly gentleman had a one time homosexual experience with the consent of his wife of 60 years.

Your author decided to write this book about Prostate Cancer when one of his best friends suffered from this disease. He took extensive chemotherapy which extended his life, but made living difficult. His body was saying make me live longer, but his mind was saying I should die, living is too painful to continue. His mind finally won-out and he died. This book used Internet to learn about the symptoms of Prostate Cancer and the latest therapies used to extend the life span of people suffering from this cancer. One promising technology is the use of Nanocells which are injected in the patient's blood stream. These nanocells seek out the cancer cells and destroy them, thus curing the patient. I learned studying Nanotechnology research for another book that people investigating the applications of Nanocells had injected such synthesized cells into mice and the cells had sought out the cancer cells and destroyed them, thus curing the mice. If Bioscience researchers can do the same thing for humans, then there is hope for eradicating Prostate Cancer.

We are undergoing a period of rapid change in technology. I decided to write this book giving a perspective on where we are today and how we evolved to reach today's level of advanced technology. One example of what I mean is small home and lap top computers with more power than a room sized IBM computer at Caltech when I went there. Another example is Microsoft Word which makes it possible to write this and other books I have published. Excel makes it possible to create sophisticated Options Trading Software without struggling to use program languages such as Basic. PowerPoint allows me to make briefings using eye-catching colored briefing charts with equations and charts copied from Word and Excel. A third example is Internet which allows me do things on my home computer such as get up-to-date financial news of the US and the World. I can get Options quotes free from the CBOE website. I can send files for the books I write to the publisher by uploading on Internet. The last item I will mention is the class of low cost items made possible by nano-electronics such as Cellphones and Tablet Computers

Your author, Dr. Jon Schiller, decided to write this book about walking defects and how to walk normally again after noticing that his daily 3 mile fast walk was not so fast anymore. The 3 mile walk, which normally took 3/4 hour, began to take 1+1/2 hour. In other words he was walking 2 miles/hour instead of 4 miles /hour. He was normally a faster walker than his wife. She became a faster walker after he noted the walking defect. After following the concepts in this book the author and his wife were able to walk 4 miles daily in 1 hour and 30 minutes

I became interested in writing this book when I read on Internet News that the US Congress had voted to repeal Obama Care, the health care promoted by President Obama. I realized that the US Congress passed this law which they knew would be vetoed by the President, not to help the people of the country, but to show the president their lack of respect for an item he had promoted. I realized further after reading the Internet News reports about the stand-off between Ranchers and the US Government over feeding rights of Rangers' cattle on Federal Lands means the US Government is penalizing ranchers for grazing cattle on Federal lands. In the US 1 out every 11 citizens is in Prison. Federal Prosecutor's annual bonuses increase in proportion to the number of people they send to prison. This should not be. We as citizens must work to prevent the downfall of the US because we have the best country ever seen in human history in matters of freedom, ability through entrepreneurial activities to become prosperous, and to protect the rest of the world against tyranny and terrorism. I hope in this book I am able to point out what we citizens must do: Get Congress to do a better job, avoid sending so many people to prison, establish better gun controls, eliminate terrorists such as ISIS.

  • - for Exporting Krytrons to Israel
    af Jon Schiller
    562,95 kr.

This is a horrible, true story of an unbelievable and unfair indictment and imprisonment of a loyal American whose only crime was to misread the USG export regulations. He spent all his money on an expensive lawyer who said, 2 days before the trial, 'You are going to prison.' Dr. Ernest Kelly replied, 'How can I be imprisoned since I did nothing wrong?' His lawyer answered, 'The prisons are full of people who did nothing wrong!' Terrified, Ernest and his wife caught the next plane to Europe and spent the next 17 years living a new life in Spain until he was arrested and learned what it was like to live in a Spanish prison. Extradited to Los Angeles, on the advice of his lawyer he agreed to a plea bargain and pled guilty since he didn't have enough money for a trial. The judge ignored the advice of the probation officer assigned by the court to evaluate Dr. Kelly's case that he be released with time served and instead sentenced him to 2 years in prison and 2 years' probation.

The US Space Shuttle delivering supplies to the US Space Station has a mechanical breakdown that prevents its return to the Earth. The remaining two US Space Shuttles are launched as quickly as possible to carry the needed supplies to the Space Station before the people there run out of expendables: air, water, etc. Both aging Shuttles suffer breakdowns - one explodes on the launch pad and the other has a breakdown in orbit near the Space Station. This second Shuttle is close enough to the Space Station to be secured by a cable and then winched up to the Space Station docking gate. The hero, Dr. Donald Richards, devises two options for rescuing the stranded astronauts: use the new European Space Station Shuttle or use the Soviet Space Shuttle. The US President over-rules NASA's recommendation to use the Soviet Space Shuttle for the rescue, so Richards negotiates an agreement with the European Space Agency to use their Shuttle to rescue the astronauts.

I designed the Avionics for the XB-70 Valkyrie Stealth Bomber when I worked for the Autonetics Division of North American Aviation, which later became Rockwell International, which later became Boeing as indicated on my Retirement check which I receive monthly. I spent thirty years before I retired from Autonetics devising ways to eliminate the Soviet Union which collapsed of its own accord in 1995 while I lived in Spain. Many Russians from the USSR moved to Malaga, Spain, where I lived for almost 20 years. The Russians seated 30% of the Symphony Orchestra including the Concert Mistress (1st Chair Violin). When I met any Russians in Malaga, they appeared such nice people it made me wonder why we wanted to eliminate them during the Cold War. This book describes in detail the SR-72 Blackbird as the stealth Surveillance Aircraft which cruised at near orbital altitudes. Other versions were fighter aircraft or large bombers. Your author participated in the design of the first version of stealth aircraft when they were so classified they could not be discussed in News Media.

Your author was chief engineer on the Avionics for the F111 fighter aircraft which was the first military aircraft to include GPS for its navigation system. That was before the days of widespread use of NanoTechology in electronics; as a result the F111 GPS was in a box the size of a Personal Computer and cost around half million dollars. I have a Tom-Tom GPS for my auto which is palm sized and cost a few hundred dollars. In 2012 I bought a 4 inch Samsung SIII smartphone which cost less than $200 and which included a free GPS App. I also bought a Toshiba Thrive Tablet for less than $300 which contains a free Google GPS App. GPS can be downloaded free to any Android mobile device. These free Google GPS Apps use Google navigation maps, for which you get charged data usage by your Android mobile server. You can download a more sophisticated GPS program that includes downloaded maps for which you pay a once only price, which avoids the data cost for using the maps which are stored in your mobile device memory. I took a test flight in the Caltech flying club aircraft that included a GPS navigation system with an easy to comprehend display. One of the benefits of this aircraft GPS is it would permit making IFR approaches to airports that lack an FAA ILS approach system, such as the airport here in Lompoc, CA, where I live. This book is intended to provide the status of GPS technology for use in walking, driving, boating and flying in 2013.
