Along with Slump stretching, lumbar spine mobilization and exercise were beneficial in reducing pain, reducing short-term disability and promoting centralization of symptoms in the selected group of patients.
This book intend to provide treatment of shoulder injuries among volley ball players.Effectiveness of modified sleeper stretch with strengthening exercise to reduce pain and increase the internal rotation of shoulder joint among volleyball players¿. The volleyball players need pain free and muscular strength for their playing games. The stretching and strengthening exercise for high school male volleyball players is important to maintain healthy body and it will improve the playing level. The modified sleeper stretch with strengthening exercise in individual with limited pain and shoulder internal rotation ROM appears to be more effective than no stretching in control without internal rotational asymmetry to improve shoulder internal rotation ROM.
This book intend to provide for the treatment of bronchiectasis.Bronchiectasis is one of the most common diseases in the rural and industrialareas of India. There are reports of high prevalence in relatively isolated populations with poor access to health care and high rates of respiratory tract infections during childhood.Bronchiectasis is an abnormal dilatation of the bronchi associated with obstruction and infection. Clinically, Bronchiectasis is defined as an abnormal dilatation of medium size bronchi and bronchioles (about the fourth to ninth generations), generally associated with previous, chronic necrotizing infections within these passages.Even though both ACBT and Postural Drainage techniques are found to have significant effect in clearing the airways, the Active cycle of breathing technique has a better effect than the postural drainage and thereby improving pulmonary function in patients with bronchiectasis.
This book which provides treatment for conventional LBP Athletes.Muscle flexibility as the ability of a muscle to lengthen, allowing one joint (or more than one joint in a series) to move through a range of motion and ¿a loss of muscle flexibility as a decrease in the ability of the muscle to deform¿ Resulting in decreasing ROM about a joint. Flexibility is a physical fitness attribute and is often evaluated from the joint range of motion (ROM), an essential element of normal biomechanical functioning in sports.Flexibility is a physical fitness attribute and is often evaluated from the joint range of motion (ROM), an essential element of normal biomechanical functioning in sports.
This book intend to provide combined effects of physiotherapy with yoga for the management of COPD Patients.Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a common respiratory disease, which produces cough and breathlessness. In India and other developing countries, factors such as air pollution, both indoor and outdoor, play a larger causative role. COPD if unaddressed leads to deviation from health. The aim of the study is to compare the effects of pursed lip breathing and Pranayama (Kumbhaka) on pulmonary in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients. The author concluded that Pursed lip breathing and Kumbhaka when performed improves pulmonary function in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients.
This book which is providing for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy.Diabetes mellitus is defined as an endocrine disorder resulting from either a deficiency in production and release of insulin into blood stream (Type I) or resistance to insulin in body (Type II). Recently published findings revealing that in 2011, the country with the largest numbers of people with diabetes is India. The countries such as India are going to be as many as 80% of all diabetes from the entire world population, there which makes India the diabetic capital of the world. It has been projected that 300 million individuals would be affected with diabetes by year 2025. (WHO). Diabetes has many serious complications including diabetic neuropathy, which presents clinically in many different ways. There is a significant difference between Balance with Strength training and general mobility exercise with walking in reducing the fall risk in subjects with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. This concludes that the Balance and Strength training will reduce the fall risk in subjects with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.
This book intend to provide about treatment of UE stroke population.Stroke is becoming an important cause of premature death and disability in low- income and middle-income countries like India, largely driven by demographic changes and enhanced by the increasing prevalence of the key modifiable risk factors. A majority of stroke survivors continue to live with disabilities, and the costs of on-going rehabilitation and long term care are undertaken by family members, which causes improvishement. The present study concludes with affirmation that the mirror therapy was effective in improving the motor function of upper extremity among stroke patients. A majority of the patients who received mirror therapy in the experimental group were highly satisfied with effectiveness of therapy and approach of researcher.
This book intend to provide Myofascial pain syndrome. It is a most common source of musculoskeletal dysfunctions characterized by trigger points and neck pain. The pain and discomfort associated with this condition have a dramatic impact on physical mobility and function. This study was done to assess the effectiveness of INIT and stabilization exercises versus Ultrasound and neck stabilization exercises in patients suffering from upper trapezius trigger points in myofascial pain. Both the groups has shown significant improvement nevertheless INIT and neck stabilization exercises has shown a better improvement than the ultrasound neck stabilization exercises when both the groups are compared.
This book intend to provides the treatment of ABCTS.To compare the effectiveness of Nerve gliding exercises and splinting Vs ultra sound and splinting in improving functional activity for patients with acute bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.Statistical analysis done by using paired ¿t¿ test showed that there is improvement in functional activity in group I and group II. Independent ¿t¿ test using post test values between group I and group II showed improvement in group I that group II.Results from the study showed nerve gliding and splinting is superior to ultrasound and splinting in improving functional activity for the patients with acute bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.
This book intend to provide evaluation forward neck posture.Forward head posture or the anterior displacement of head relative to the thorax is a common postural deviation seen in normal subjects. The causes for forward head posture may be attributed to poor postural sense, muscle fatigue or weakness, use of bifocals, dysfunction of cervical spine etc. Self-correction exercises like cervical retraction exercises and isometric neck extensor exercises are more frequently used. So this study attempts to compare the effectiveness of cervical retraction exercises versus isometric neck extensor exercises on forward head posture.A cervical retraction exercise is more effective over isometric neck extensors exercises for the correction of forward head posture over six week in terms of relative improvement.
This book is giving information and treatment chronic postural LBP.Yoga and Pilates which have, both been gaining in popularity over the last decade are two mind¿body exercise interventions that address both the physical and mental aspects of pain with core strengthening, flexibility, and relaxation. In this study, we intend to find out the effect of Yoga exercises over Pilates on reducing pain and disability in chronic postural low back pain. Thus the Group1 (Yoga) has shown more significant effect than the Group2 (Pilates) in reducing pain and disability among subjects with chronic postural low back pain.
This book intend to provide therapeutic management of tennis elbow.Lateral Epicondylitis is most common lesion of the elbow affecting the tendinous origin of the wrist extensors especially ECRB. The tennis elbow syndrome has been recognized for a century and received its name more than 90 years ago. In clinical practice, different outcome measures were used to evaluate functional recovery in tennis elbow. This study has used two outcome measures for evaluating the functional recovery in tennis elbow and they are Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and grip strength. Visual analogue scale is a scale which measures pain subjectively. In this, the patient is given a 10 point scale on which they have to mark their pain as mild, moderate or severe. Researchers have evaluated the inter observer reproducible of the assessment of severity of complaints, grip strength and pressure pain threshold in patient with lateral epicondylitis in primary care and they concluded that inter observer reliability of severity of complaints and grip strength was excellent.

The pain and discomfort associated with this condition have a dramatic impact on physical mobility and function. This study was done to assess the effectiveness of INIT and stabilization exercises versus Ultrasound and neck stabilization exercises in patients suffering from upper trapezius trigger points in myofascial pain syndrome. Both the groups has shown significant improvement nevertheless INIT and neck stabilization exercises has shown a better improvement than the ultrasound neck stabilization exercises when both the groups are compared.
This book provides of treatment of NSNP. Neck pain (or cervicalgia) is a common problem, with sixty percent of the population suffering with it at some point in their lives. Neck pain, although felt in the neck, can be caused by many other spinal problems. Neck pain may arise due to muscular tightness in both the neck and upper back, and pinching of the nerves emanating from the cervical spine. Non-Specific Neck Pain is the most common one. This is also known as 'simple' or ¿Mechanical' neck pain. The causes may be minor strains and sprains to muscles or ligaments in the neck. Bad posture seems to be the major contributing factor in many cases. Neck pain can be caused due to many other physical and emotional health problems as well.It is concluded that Ultrasound Therapy with Sub Occipital Muscle Release Technique training group showed statistically significant reduction in pain than the other group.
This book which provide treatment of MLBP.Mechanical low back pain is one of the most common problems in modern society. It causes major economic problems in industrialized nations. It accounts for the second leading cause of absenteeism from work.To compare the effects of McKenzie approach and Kinesio Taping technique in individuals with Mechanical low back pain.Mechanical low back pain is described as a musculoskeletal pain which varies with physical activities and not involving root compression or series of spinal disease.9 Bed rest is considered to be an effective management of acute low back pain. There is strong evidence that supports bed rest greater than two days is not effective in the treatment of acute low back pain. Restriction of activity is impressive for recovery from mechanical low back pain. The results of this study concluded that McKenzie¿s approach is more effective therapy for mechanical low back pain patients.
This book which enable to provides Mechanical low back pain is essentially a universal and self limiting phenomenon. It continues to be one of the enigmas of modern medicine. It is not only a medical problem ,but a social, legal and practical one as well. Men and women are equally affected. It occurs most often between ages 30 and 50. The natural history of Mechanical low back pain depend upon the influence of age, injury and adaptive changes to the different neuro musculo skeletal changes.Through the results, alternate hypothesis is accepted and also the study could be concluded that there is a significant difference between endurance training of extensors with corestabilization exercise and corestabilization in improving the propioception in patients with Mechanical low back pain.
Shoulder subluxation is a most significant problem in post stroke hemiplegics, resulting in pain and loss of function. Surface electrical stimulation was found to reduce existing subluxation, but showed no significant improvement in motor function. The main purpose of this study was to determine the short term effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation and motor activity eliciting exercises in preventing the occurrence of shoulder pain and subluxation and in enhancing early shoulder mobility. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) and motor activity eliciting exercises have short term effect in preventing the occurrence of post stroke shoulder pain and subluxation and also in improving shoulder motor function.
Hypertension is major risk factor for cardio vascular morbidity and mortality. It accelerates the process of atherosclerosis in the coronary, cerebral, renal arteries as well as increasing the work load of the heart. Hypertensive patient is at risk of developing myocardial infarction, stroke, renal failure, congestive heart failure. Hypertension is a elevated blood pressure and also a scientific problem of un expected complexity. The cause of elevated blood pressure is unknown. A condition termed primary or essential hypertension. The study concludes that slow breathing exercises along with conventional physiotherapy is the most beneficial effective than the aerobic exercises alone in patients with essential hypertension. This study supports the alternate hypothesis which states that there is a significant improvement in cardio respiratory control and exercise capacity by slow breathing exercise along with aerobic exercise.
The study is aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation along with motor relearning on improving functional mobility in subjects with sub-acute stroke. The objective of the study is to enlighten the effectiveness of Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation along with motor relearning in improving functional mobility in subjects with sub-acute strokeHence it can be concluded that PNF along with motor relearning show improvement in functional mobility that subjects treated with PNF alone.
Diabetes mellitus is defined as an endocrine disorder resulting from either a deficiency in production and release of insulin into blood stream (Type I) or resistance to insulin in body (Type II).This study was focused on analyzing the effect of Balance and Strength training in reducing the fall risk in subjects with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. About thirty subjects were selected after fulfilling Inclusion and Exclusion criteria. The subjects were divided into Experimental and Control group with fifteen subjects in each group.
This book giving treatment of mechanical LBP.Low back pain is one of the commonest condition which almost every person suffer. There are several techniques devised to manage low back pain.many patients get relief with mulligan method of mobilization which is very popular. Another method is slump stretching which not only diagnoses the mechanosensitivity of spinal nerves but if used with appropriate techniques can be used as a form of treatment.slump stretching can be considered as better form of treatment compared to mulligan method of mobilization for treatment of subgroup of patient with non radicular low back pain. Although both form of treatment is considerably beneficial.
This book which enable to provides to compare the effect of cervical muscles coordination retraining exercises along with medication and medication alone on pain reduction, improving the cervical muscle strength and postural correction in patients with cervicogenic headache. It was concluded that, the exercises with medication group was more effective than the medication group for patients with cervicogenic headache in reducing intensity and frequency of pain, improving craniovertebral angle and craniocervical flexion test. Henceforth these exercises can be used along with the medication as effective intervention.
This book which is providing about short term Pulmonary Rehabilitation has been shown to have beneficial effects in subjects with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Studies have also shown the unique effects caused by Respiratory Muscle Stretch Gymnastics in subjects with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Hence the study aimed to find out the combined effects of short term pulmonary rehabilitation with respiratory muscle stretch gymnastics. There were no statistically significant differences in short term pulmonary rehabilitation with RMSG group and only short term pulmonary rehabilitation group after a period of 3 weeks.
