It's summer in Scohshire, Anterland, and a father and son are on a walking trip. Join them as they camp in various places and make new friends. Toward the end of their journey, they discover a mysterious town. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens then. So, kick off your shoes, find a good chair, and have an adventure too!So much of today's entertainment for children is so over-the-top that I wanted to write something that was an adventure but one that is more peaceful. It was my desire to write about a healthy relationship between a father and son, which is something we don't often hear about these days. God, our heavenly Father, also has a part in the story. There is a slight British flavor to the tale due to my experience living abroad. Pud and Topie's Adventure is suitable for kids of all ages (and adults who are still young at heart) as a bedtime story or for lower-grade-school-age readers. 61 pages. I encourage my readers to draw their own pictures of the story on any blank page! Be creative.
Jesus was a masterful storyteller - He knew how to engage people, speak the truth into their needs, and get His message across even to those who opposed Him. The author has enlarged three parables in the fifteenth chapter of Luke's gospel - the lost sheep, lost coin and lost son. Those listening to Jesus that day heard how much He values individuals. "Because they heard Jesus" is a short story, 67 pages, but the content will speak to your heart deeply. It's also a companion book to "Because they met Jesus." Both books stand alone but complement each other. It's a larger font for those that prefer bigger letters to read by. Come inside the story and use your imagination to hear Him speak to you. May your life be changed "Because you heard Jesus."
"Elephant's Dream" is a delightful picture book about an elephant who falls asleep and has a creative and unique dream. There is an idea for an art project at the end of the storyGreat book to read outloud to toddlers or for those just learning how to read.
An artist's view of the story of Creation in Genesis. The text is taken straight from Scripture, with definitions of the words alongside some comments. The artist hopes that both children and adults will engage in the words and illustrations to see how God reveals Creation to them.
Have you lost sight of Jesus? Do you wonder if He knows how you feel today? Does He concern Himself with your life, emotions, or wounds? We've lost sight of the fact that He walked in our skin. Sometimes we avoid going to Him because we think He can't possibly understand what our lives are like. Or, we think we'll be rejected for how we feel, so we don't go to the person who can truly help us. Perhaps you struggle with how you do feel and take on guilt and condemnation for just having feelings. This book explores the life of Jesus and the extent of His love for us. He alone knows how you feel and can come to your aid with all the resources of heaven. May you know His peace and rest as you take a look at The Feelings of Jesus. 191 pages, suitable for teens and adults.
Spots and Stripes Forever is a great read aloud kids book, or, for ages 8 and up a good reader. It's a story about how giraffes got their spots. This book also teaches some design concepts such as pattern, and color contrast. An art project is suggested at the end. Have fun reading about giraffes!
"What If? Animals and their Tales" is an upbeat children's story about misfit animals and how they find fellowship with each other despite their life circumstances. If you've ever felt as if you didn't "fit in" because of a defect, handicap, or some weakness, this book explores those feelings from an animal's point of view. Kids and adults will love all the unique characters and the full-color illustrations throughout the book. The book ends with an invitation to write your own tale. A great bedtime story or reader for 3rd grade and up. 53 pages with full-color illustrations!
Kaleidoscope Zoo - A story to be seen - is a wonderful tale of friendship. It's about a young boy who learns how to see the world in a fresh, new way through a kaleidoscope and a new friend he meets at the zoo. You find out in the end who the person is that helps the boy's sight. The kaleidoscope also represents something that will pleasantly surprise you. This would be a great bed-time story, or read by any child 2-3rd grade or older.
Welcome to a collection of meditations on various Scriptures. The illustrations with the text are abstract in nature because we often tend to see God's work in our lives as abstract and yet, to God it is in perfect step with what He is doing. The Holy Spirit may seem to work in an abstract way and at times may even seem chaotic. But not so - God's mind is always in total order. "He orders our steps"...so even though it may appear messy as we follow Him, we will see the order, even if after the fact.In the Bible are many types and shadows of things that point to Jesus. There are layers of truth hidden in objects, stories, names, numbers, and places. The illustrations are my own symbols that point to the truth. I have given a brief explanation of how each illustration represents the verse and what I got out of it. I hope you can find truth in what you see. The text is written like a conversation and the medium was mainly watercolor. Each was painted, then cut up and put back together in a pattern other than how it began. I never knew just how each one would turn out - which was a great object lesson to me of how God works. We just start to follow in His footsteps not knowing where He will lead, but it is always someplace good for us. And the design He makes of our lives is way better than we could do ourselves. What a great artist God is!
Receive from Jesus A devotional based on Scripture with topics such as honesty, fear, trust, rest, prayer, healing, grace, peace, and more. If you believe you have to work to please God, this book will put your mind at rest. It's when we receive from God, that we have the grace to give to others. Since Jesus is the author of salvation, He is also the author of everything else we need. I invite you into the pages of this book and receive all that Jesus died to give you!
There are many individuals mentioned in Scripture whose lives have not been chronicled in detail. I've selected a few of these people and endeavored to paint a larger picture of them and how their lives were changed because they met Jesus. The main characters in each of the three stories are factual, in accordance with the verses listed with each book. Their lives before and after meeting Jesus are fiction but as true to life as I could imagine. The Scripture references, along with other Bible passages, are woven into each narrative. I've researched the culture and events that transpired during that period in history, and I hope you can imagine yourself walking alongside each person as their stories unfold. May God touch your heart and reveal Jesus to you in a fresh and living way! Book One: The Decapolis Miracles (Mark 5:1-20, and 7:31-37) Book Two: Simon, the leper (Luke 5:12-14, and Matthew 26:6-13) Book Three: Lydia, a businesswoman (Acts 16:13-40). (The text uses a larger than usual type size.)
"Our Room of Needs" is a type of devotional for those who are embarking on a process of emotional, spiritual or any sort of healing of the heart and mind. Whether this process is aided by a professional counselor or not, these writings can be a wonderful tool for you, so that you know you are not alone in the process. Dealing with your past is never easy. We often give up because of the struggle it involves. The healing is well worth the effort. Pictures of paintings and pottery visually accent the poems and stories. Many pages have room to write your own notes alongside of the writings. Also, blank journal pages are included at the back of the book for recording longer thoughts. May you reap encouragement and comfort from this book.
Because they saw Jesus takes you back to the time Jesus walked among us. The author has woven together several real individuals from the New Testament with some true-to-life characters in the historical context of the first century A.D. The narrative unfolds as a blind man, a scribe and his wife, a beggar, a rabbi, and Roman centurions, see Jesus and interact with Him. Discover the timeless gospel in a realistic, personal, and fresh way. Read with your natural eyes and the eyes of your heart as your faith in God grows. The book is a companion to "Because they met Jesus," and "Because they heard Jesus," although all three books stand on their own. It's easy to read, just over 300 pages, and is appropriate for teens and adults.
Dreams are an interesting thing everyone experiences. This is a zany dream one scene at a time. It begins with the person wondering if words are free and if pictures are worth a thousand words. In the end, the reader will discover that God is a part of the dream. Each scene is illustrated with bright watercolor paintings. This book may help your child talk about their dreams or even draw pictures of them. This would be a great read-to book for younger kids or reading students of any age.
This book a primer, which just means this is an introduction, a basic book to help you see how valuable you are and to assist you in becoming the best you can be. It's written for a middle school and high school audience and parents. You have value. It's not value you earn. Your worth is intrinsic. It's in you, and no one can take it away from you. You are born with this innate characteristic. You are unique and rare. Because of this, you have great value. If you "be the best you can be," then you can achieve your dreams, and the world will be a better place! It's not about the group you belong to. It's not about the circumstances in your life. There will always be challenges, people who do bad things, adversity, betrayal, and suffering. But you, as a strong individual, have the power within you to overcome these adversities. If you change the thoughts you think about yourself, work harder than everyone else, never give up, and take responsibility for yourself, you can accomplish your goals.
