Having reached adulthood, he is on a trip to the Ukiyo Kingdom on recommendation of his mentor. In a land far apart in culture and distance from his hometown of Aquarelle in the Quill Kingdom, this young man will soon realize the impact of this trip that will forever change his life. This man is Benjamin Huldigen.In this world, there are people who have companion creatures born from their drawings. These people are known as Penaé. The Penaé and his companion creature are one. While these creatures are unable to speak on their own, they are able to communicate with their Penaé through nonverbal gestures. Penaé are held in high regard all around the world. In the Quill Kingdom, there is a specialized division known as Quill Knights. These Quill Knights, though a military division, are the most influential during peacetime, where they travel the kingdom to assist the citizenry. These Quill Knights, as they ascend in rank, form the backbone of the Quill Kingdom in their political influence and their impact on society.
