Omforladelse er en stærk fortælling om sult, håb og frygten for at blive forladt. I romanen møder vi den unge kvinde Lea, der har lidt af anoreksi siden barndommen. Hveruge kæmper hun mod angsten for at skulle vejes i psykiatrien og få målt sitværd i et BMI. For hvis ikke hun tager et kilo på om ugen, bliver hun sendthjem på tænkepause. Hun er både tynd nok til at få hjælp og for tynd til at få hjælp.
