Richmond's writings are popular due to their simple pathos and piety.Legh Richmond was powerfully influenced by William Wilberforce's Practical View of Christianity. His best known writing is The Dairyman's Daughter, of which is estimated to have sold as many as four million copies by the mid 1900's was published in over 20 languages and continues to sell well today.
