The K-12 education sector is isolated from the wider economy, causing teachers and school administrators to feel stuck in jobs they no longer want and without clear pathways to pivot to new careers. By examining the career journeys of 20 former educators, we learn the reasons so many educators are seeking to leave the profession, from the constant crises to factors causing burnout and work-life imbalance, illustrating how schools and districts are failing to monitor and improve their employee experience and wellbeing. We examine educators' skills and how they align with various professions, offer advice for changing careers, and explain why human resource and hiring managers should consider recruiting teachers and school administrators. Why teachers and principals are quitting What careers educators can pivot intoHow to start a new career Why companies should hire former educatorsIdentifying and understanding burnout and wellbeingWays to improve education The authentic career journeys of former educators who are succeeding in new career fields will inspire you to take the leap and begin your new career journey. Parents and policy makers who value keeping the best educators in their local schools will also be enlightened learning about the experiences of teachers and principals, and how we can once again make education a desirable career.

This is the first time this author ever tried letting a ventriloquist's puppet tell a story as narrator from its own point of view. Zearlop is a fancy sock-puppet zebra with moving eyes, moving eyebrows, moving mouth, and an attached ventriloquist who can barely speak for himself, and then only with the help of his puppet. It is a story about dealing with a serial killer and child molester in your own home town, and the great difficulties of solving the crimes when you can't communicate through normal means. Murray Dawes faces life in prison for crimes he never committed, and was himself a victim of, a situation that can only be dealt with on a small stage with a talking puppet on your right arm.

Designing a wind turbine is an interdisciplinary process that requires an understanding of challenges for all parties involved. The authors deliver an effective and economic way to organize such a design by respecting all the challenges involved. The book provides such insight by utilizing specific examples of existing modern designs. Detailed descriptions and explanations are given for those components of the wind turbine that are normally developed by the so-called original equipment manufacturers (OEM) of a particular type. The OEM needs to have full knowledge of the complete system that consists of all parts being rotor blades, nacelle, drive train, tower, and foundation including the dynamic properties and the response to the controller action. This full knowledge is called system competence. For a wind turbine the drive train is the most important system. It consists of many components like shafts, bearings, gearbox, and generator for a wind turbine with a gear box; in systems without a gearbox a large generator has to be integrated into the drive train.

The exciting experiments of the BABAR and BELLE collaborations have now proven violation of CP symmetry in the neutral B system. This has renewed strong interest in the physics of CP violation. Novel experimental techniques and new highly intense neutron sources are now becoming available to further test the related time reversal symmetry. They will substantially lower the current limit on the neutron electric dipole moment and hence open up new tests of theoretical concepts beyond the Standard Model. These are strongly required to explain the decisive excess of matter versus antimatter in our Universe. There is a de?nite need to communicate these exciting developments to younger scientists, and therefore we organized a summer school in October 2000 on "e;CP Violation and Related Topics"e;, which was held in Prerow, a small Baltic Sea resort. These Lecture Notes were inspired by the vivid - terest of the participants, and I am grateful to the authors, who faced the unexpected and delivered all the material for an up-to-date introduction to this broad ?eld. It is a great pleasure for me to warmly thank the Co-organizers of the summer school, Henning Schr*oder, Thomas Mannel, Klaus R. Schubert and my colleague Roland Waldi. Also I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Volkswagen-Stiftung for their ?nancial support of this inspiring summer school.
