Bøger af Nathaniel William Wraxall

Originally published in 1815, traveller and writer Nathanial William Wraxall's two-volume memoirs were an immediate, though controversial, success: 1,000 copies sold out within five weeks. Accused and found guilty of libel, he published this 'corrected' second edition later that same year. Volume 1 covers the period 1772-81.

Nathaniel Wraxall (1751-1831) travelled extensively in Europe and moved in royal and diplomatic circles. In this 1799 two-volume work in epistolary form, he recalls his visits to a number of courts in the late 1770s. In Volume 1 he visits German principalities before continuing on to Vienna and Cracow.
