Es gehörte viel Fleiß und Ausdauer dazu das spärlich vorhandene Material aufzufinden, zu sichten und zusammen zu stellen, umso größer ist deshalb auch meine Befriedigung, dass es mir gelang die zur Aufgabe gestellte Vollendung einer um meine Vaterstadt geschlungenen lokalgeschichtlichen Kette, in der kein einziges Glied fehlt, glücklich zu lösen. Möge jeder Freund der Geschichte jeder gebildete Bewohner Leipzigs und der Nachbarorte das Werkchen freundlich aufnehmen. ... (Moser)
