We prey on animals for food and clothing, we use them for entertainment in circuses and for hunting and racing in various sporting events. We use them as companions (pets), while at the same time referring to them as even our "best friends." We own them as property to show wealth, or to keep us safe, for example as guard animals. We train them to find contraband in various places like airports, and we even keep them captive in zoos and parks, where we pay our money, just to stare at them - and we call them "dumb." What Animals Might Think, provides some insight into the animal world and what they might think in a variety of situations.
101 Important bits of information with which individuals, should be familiar, before they divorce.
Children that are raised without fathers are known to encounter significant challenges in many areas of their lives. Even so, almost 25 million children in America live in homes without fathers - a distinction that makes America the country with the most absent fathers on the planet. Why are so many fathers absent? The phenomenon is very complex. It also represents only a small portion of a much larger systemic problem in this society that is closely associated with our single-mother-focused culture. This culture, has historically placed very little value on the importance of fathers and the unique difference that their presence makes in families. Fathers, however, are groomed to keep their feelings quiet. Hence, they rarely express how marginalized and devalued they often feel in their families. Mothers, on the other hand, have been expressing negative views about fathers for decades. But their versions of the story do not always give the full picture. In this volume, over 200 fathers of diverse backgrounds, candidly share their versions of the story - in their own words.
This curriculum was designed specifically to help minor children, whose parents were never married, those, whose parents are separated or are divorcing, understand why parents separate or divorce, what divorce means, how their lives could be affected when the family changes and what skills and strategies they could use to help themselves adjust appropriately.

In many areas of the United States, parents who were never married, those who are separated, divorcing or involved in paternity actions and they have minor children, are required to take a 4-hour parenting education course before their legal actions can be finalized. Parenting courses provide important information regarding how the lives of adults and children could change when families break up. Through these courses, parents also learn about their expected roles and their responsibilities as separated or divorced co-parents, and they are empowered with steps that they can take, which could lessen the pain and the trauma that is too often a reality, especially for children, following divorce. This book provides parents of minor children, with basic information that they need to have before they take the final step towards ending their marriage. It is available with full color (FC) and black and white interiors. The author, Dr. Percy Ricketts, has been a Psychotherapist and Parenting Consultant for almost two decades. He is an alumnus of Virginia Tech, Nova Southeastern University and Argosy University, with a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. He has authored several books on a variety of topics and he developed the "Parenting for Divorce" curriculum (www.parentingfordivorce.com). He also founded the "Men's Mental Health Center" (2013), in Pembroke Pines, Florida (www.mensmentalhealthcenter.com).
