Cali Thomas Pitt has made quite the name for herself at Carrington State University, and so has her husband Jason. Although, every thing seems to be changing. Jason lives in a big city three hours away from Cali, and signing autographs has become the norm for him. Meanwhile, Cali is left behind at Carrington, where every day, something else seems to change. While trying to figure out how to be a good wife from a distance, Cali dances on the brink of adulthood as each day draws closer to the end of her time at Carrington.
After a crazy first year of college, Cali Thomas is ready to take on Carrington State University for a second time. Now a successful sophomore, Cali is faced with many of the same challenges as the year before. This year though, there seems to be even more happening. Cali has a boyfriend, a scholarship, a new apartment, roommates, and teammates to balance. Not to mention, she has birth parents that she is desperate to find, and an increasingly important family life. In the second book of the series, Cali searches for the important parts of herself in everything and everyone she cares about, and tries to put them together.
As a junior in college, Cali Thomas is used to being the only female football player on her team. She's used to sharing a locker room with all boys, used to studying two foreign languages at the same time, used to having no family to fall back on, and even used to having a semi-famous boyfriend. What she's not used to is suddenly feeling like a child dealing with adult problems. She's not used to being out of her element, and having no prior experience to rely on. She's not used to reporters swarming around her. She's not used to having cameras in her face while trying to deal with things that most people never experience in a life time. While venturing through her third year at Carrington State University, Cali attempts to keep her head above water. She puts her heart into it, and with Jason by her side, fights back as hard as she can.
Cali Thomas has been alone her whole life. She's never had parents, but has been to just about every foster home in the state. By a chance of fate, Cali discovers that she is very talented at placekicking for her High School football team, and gets signed to play for Carrington State University. Between sharing a dorm with nine other boys, having to change in a closet, and keeping up an academic scholarship, Cali has her hands full. Fortunately, she meets Jason Pitt, a quarterback protégé who somehow manages to keep up with her. Together, they venture through Cali's first year of adulthood, and take their team right to the edge of success.
