I have been travelling most of my life, and my experiences have made me a better person. Coming into contact with people from across the world has helped to expand my horizons, and has made me appreciative of people from other cultures. I have taken photographs of the places I have visited, researched their history and have enjoyed food from across the world. This is travel. The journey can indeed be the destination and the sheer joy of the time on the road is often enough. Write about it, dream about it. The memories, and experiences are all yours. I hope you take the chance to write these experiences down in whatever form you like. It's your personal journey.

You travel, you experience. You often come back and forget the great memories of the places that you saw. This is the place that you can record all these experiences. The cover should, hopefully, bring back some of these memories, and trigger some happy memories. This, hopefully, will prompt you to write and record these experiences. Travelling is a wonderful experience. It is a break from the routine and the mundane. It starts with the very experience of the trip, the planning, the arguments, the research and much more. Then, when you reach your destination, the reality sometimes can be more than anything you hoped for. It can be wildly different. It can be disappointing at times. This is what life is about. Use this journal to put down everything you experience. May it be a faithful companion on your trips.

This is a book about photography, Delhi, history and passion. Delhi is an ancient city, and is built up of seven (or eight or nine) cities. These have been built by the successive dynasties that have occupied the seat of Delhi. Delhi has been central to India's politics for over one thousand years. What the city is today, is an amalgamation of all the events and the stories of the last few thousand years. It is an amalgamation of the stories, the sweat and tears of the men and women who have built this city. Photography today, in a similar vein, is an amalgamation of all the events, the experiments that have been carried out for the last (almost) two hundred years. The vintage processes of the past showed a continuous burst of creativity. The vintage processes live on today. In this book, I have photographed Seven Cities of Delhi, and have processed the images digitally in Photoshop, simulating many of the vintage processes. Each city has been represented in a different process History, passion for the vintage processes, Delhi and photography combine to make this book

This is a book of photography, and of history. Delhi is made up of seven, or eight, or nine cities, depending on how you would like to count the cities and the growth of Delhi. The seven cities have been chosen because they are representative of the growth of the city, and have been critical to the development of what Delhi is today. The accent has been on photographing the monuments of Delhi. The photographs of each city have been processed digitally. Vintage processes have been simulated in Photoshop, and the photographs of each city have been processed with a different technique. As far as possible, the effort has been to mirror the chronological development of Delhi, with a scaled down chronological development of photography. There is beauty and drama in Delhi, as well as in it's history. Many men and women have contributed to its growth and development into a major megalopolis. Their deeds have played a seminal role in making Delhi what it is today. It is a city that blends modernity, chaos with the memories and bones of the dead. In a similar vein, there is mystery and magic in some of the vintage processes of photography. Without the sheer innovation and inventiveness of the men and women in the 1800's and 1900's, photography would not be what it is today. This book attempts to blend both - the history of Delhi, with aspects of the history of photography.

The book was originally written as a blog, to entertain my children at night, and was originally intended as a an unending adventure. The story revolves around the adventures of an unlikely and unwilling hero, Percival the Pig, who wins the hand of his great love, Bessie, only to lose her on their honeymoon, As the story unfolds, Percival sets of in search of her, with his one time rivals, Basil and Thyme, As they journey in search of her, they make some unlikely friends, who are captured by an evil, magical, race called The Mrodics. During the course of their adventures, Percival finds true love in the most unlikely of places. They have adventures, are captured, and often escape in the most miraculous manner. Percival grows, or seems to grow, during the course of the adventures, and waxes forth in a most philosophical manner at times. However, he inspires a band of followers to rally behind him, in the fight against evil, and the Mrodics. His adventures are a blend of the humorous, the romantic, and are full of his antics and philosophical musings. This is the story of Percival, as well as his adventures.
