Internationally renowned architect Tom Bendish, Jeanne Aubry a director of France's largest bank and Willie Nakapenkim, Chief of a Canadian First Nation Tribe must combine their talents to prevent the USA acquiring powerful technology with the potential to change the balance of power. After an initial contact with Tom by a peaceful inter-space traveller - an unwilling visitor to earth -they find themselves up against the combined power of the American Air force, Navy, CIA and Homeland Security. The female non terrestrial, who Tom calls Eirene, after the Greek Goddess of Peace, finally convinces him and his two allies that her technology cannot fall into the hands of any one nation. Eirene is somewhere at the bottom of the deep Pacific - location unknown. Her energy reserves are depleting and within months her life support system will take her craft to the surface and broadcast a distress beacon. As a consequence of her communications with Tom, the Americans - thanks largely to the brilliance of their sonar expert Commander Elizabeth Ferguson - are honing in on her Pacific Ocean sanctuary. Eirene uses her technology to monitor the team - who she calls the hunters -determined to capture her. In a race against the clock Tom, Jeanne and Willie must figure out how to find Eirene's precise position; raise millions of dollars to fund the operation and provide the means to destroy the technology. All of which must be accomplished without alerting the American's to their true intentions. Commander Ferguson overturns their brilliant scheme to mislead the hunters. With only hours to spare and just as Tom, Jeanne and Willie believe they have achieved the impossible, they find themselves pitted against the might of the USA Navy, time, and a Pacific winter storm.
