This is a book of poems inspired by myself and my very special group of friends Leith Circle and our journey together through a very turbulent period of time in our small part of the world Scotland. I hope it will inspire thought, reflection and positive action. Some of the proceeds will go to help a positive action group The Common Weal who have set up to take positive action in the long-term alleviation of poverty and some will go to the Leith Hub community development project promoting inclusion, community development, support, inter-community care, celebration of diversity and heritage, green/ecoliving, local work placements, inter-generational and multicultural interaction and generally creating links and breaking down barriers where at present there is quite a lot of division in a community that has endured a period of extreme austerity in our part of the world.
Rose Westmoreland boards a train alone in 1911, bound for the far edge of the country in search of her missing husband. She is caught up in the intrigue of the Revolution, the unfamiliar culture of the borderlands, and the deadly competition between international oil companies.
