Sidney Waldman taught at Haverford College for forty-five years. His field was American politics. When he saw that what politics could achieve was limited by limits in the ethics and compassion of the American people, he focused on the fields of religion and philosophy to try to facilitate ethics and compassion. That led him to an awareness of the God in us, both as reality and potential.
