I had a series of them that I enjoyed called Emergency Exit. They were episodic and mostly just rip-offs of The Twilight Zone. I thought they were so cool at the time and fortunately for me the floppy disc they were recorded on was lost forever. I say 'fortunately' because if I had found them and read them today I'd probably be embarrassed. This book, Cosmic Thread, is basically my attempt to make that adolescent me proud and to write something that I hope he might have enjoyed. Since I'll never actually know, at least not in this plane of existence, I guess you will have to let me know for him.

On April 12, 1981, a major celestial event occurred in the United States of America, which was described by numerous news sources as a spectacular aurora borealis. This event was witnessed by many people across the United States, from east to west as well as north and south.
