This book deals with on-board catering services for tourist modes of transport: autoplanes, trains, cruises and aeroplanes. The author has worked in four- and five-star hotels, railway catering on European and Swiss intercity trains, cruise ship catering in northern Europe, fine dining and casual dining restaurants, commercial and social catering in Portugal and Luxembourg. He began his professional career in 1976 in Lisbon, has been a catering trainer since 1980 and a university lecturer since 1998. Subjects of interest: Gastronomy, restaurants, catering, food and beverage management (F&B Management).
The present book is a selection of class notes and texts produced for the evaluation work of this curricular unit of the second and third year of the anthropology course, which I now bring together to share with those who enjoy these themes.Social anthropology, brings together notes from the social anthropology classes, related to the different ways of organizing kinship, in the different anthropological cultures; in the different latitudes of the globe, studied by anthropologists, historians and sociologists, in the different dimensions of the theme of family relations.Summaries of presentations in class will be presented, as well as written assignments for final evaluation of which we will highlight: a life story, a family story, and others.We will start with notes from Social Anthropology I and the evaluation papers, then with notes from Social Anthropology II and the evaluation papers.
