Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers was a polyglot; among the languages he had studied were English, French, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Gaelic and Coptic, though he had a greater command of some languages than of others. His translations of such books as The Book of Abramelin (14thC.), Christian Knorr von Rosenroth's The Kabbalah Unveiled (1684), Key of Solomon, The Lesser Key of Solomon are his most well known translations. Christian Knorr von Rosenroth (July 15/16, 1636 - May 4, 1689) was a German Hebraist born at Alt-Raudten, in Silesia. After having completed his studies in the universities of Wittenberg and Leipzig, he traveled through Holland, France, and England. On his return he devoted himself to the study of Oriental languages, especially Hebrew, the rudiments of which he had acquired while abroad. Later he became a diligent student of the Kabbalah, in which he believed to find proofs of the doctrines of Christianity. In his opinion the Adam Kadmon of the cabalists is Jesus, and the three highest sefirot represent the Trinity. Rosenroth intended to make a Latin translation of the Zohar and the Ti¿¿unim, and he published as preliminary studies the first two volumes of his Kabbala Denudata, sive Doctrina Hebræorum Transcendentalis et Metaphysica Atque Theologia (Sulzbach, 1677-78). They contain a cabalistic nomenclature, the Idra Rabbah and Idra Züa and the Sifra di-¿eni'uta, cabalistic essays of Naphtali Herz ben Jacob Elhanan.
A legendary book, which was the starting point for the genre of science fiction, Theosophy, the New Age, The Force, and modern day conspiracy theories. It's tale of a subterranean Master Race, able to control a mysterious energy force, called the Vril. It inspired the Vril Society in Germany and beyond, and was believe by many to be very thinly disguised reality. You owe it to yourself to peruse this highly entertaining and engaging seminal work, and see where many of our widely held beliefs today were spawned!
A Series of Lessons in Raja Yoga by Yogi Ramacharaka (a pen name used by William Walker Atkinson) is a comprehensive guide to the principles and practices of Raja Yoga, which is one of the classical forms of yoga focusing on meditation, mental control, and spiritual development. The book presents yoga as a holistic system that integrates the mind, body, and spirit, offering practical lessons for personal transformation and self-realization.Raja Yoga, often called the "royal path," emphasizes the mind's mastery over the physical body and emotions, aiming for a deep state of meditation and spiritual enlightenment. In this work, Atkinson distills these teachings in a way accessible to Western audiences in the early 20th century, while still rooted in ancient yogic philosophy.
The Best of James Allen. Four books in one -Including: As a Man Thinketh * The Path of Prosperity * Above Life's Turmoil * The Way of Peace. (Plus a James Allen short biography by the editor/complier) This collection shows how is no other facet of the Spiritual Path that is more liberating and empowering than the understanding how the quality of our thoughts can guide and form our destiny and the quality of life we lead. We can contemplate about God, Love and Oneness, but unless we learn early that first and foremost our thoughts that guide and lead us, other ideals and pursuits might be unfruitful. This collection shows that all the creative powers and self-determination is our cosmic inheritance, our birthright. It is all knowable.
