THE HEART HAS A HOMELY FACE is a book of introspective poetry composed on ordinary themes that come through a Taoist perspective. Anderson's poetry rests on a point of inner balance upon common experiences. He brings forth the insights that most people can relate to concerning their connection with all things living. Anderson asks in his work, "What has my life as a poet meant but to tighten the string that ties us all together?" As a philosophical Taoist Anderson tries to weigh all of his subjects with an equal objectivity that evokes empathy and compassion from within one's self, and connects with all humankind.

One whose mind is intrigued with tales of the unusual will discover them once their imagination steps through the archway leading to the 'Land of 'Philantasy'. Sculptured onto the obelisks are the titles of eight short stories, a novella and a ditty. These are not the run of the mill (so to speak) type of stories. They are what I call 'Philantasy', a coined word. They are all a touch of philosophy with the imagination of fantasy."Rooted largely in the imaginative storylines the author creates. What you might think is going to happen, doesn't. And the twist is always thought provoking."-Susan Brown, Hollywood Book Reviews

My life has grown in wholeness with the writing of this book. God shows me more every day about how to connect with my "spirituality of nature." This concept reveals how my spirit (my "core") connects with all of nature--earth (animals, vegetation, microorganisms), water, wind, and fire.My literary contribution looks at, Who is nature? Who am I? and How are we connected? For a very long time, I believed that there were few connections, if any. Through a lifetime of living with God, my spirit has been inspired to look more closely at his creations and what makes them connected. What is my responsibility (if any) in all of this?Over the course of my lifetime, my explorations led to what I name my spirituality of nature. It is my spirit, my core, my believing which leads me to see God as I never have. Not only is one human being related to another, each of us is related to and responsible for all that God creates. I know beyond all unknowing that God created me to be both unique and to be responsible for his creations. I am part of all that is and all that is me.I invite you to take this phenomenal journey with me. My hope is that we will join together in seeking out God's creations.

This book is about a meaningful way of getting to know better our Lord Jesus Christ, the significant events in His life, the sacred mission He accomplished in obedience to His heavenly Father, His very words and ways, and the significant role of His blessed mother, all these by praying the holy rosary. This time, every prayer on each bead is accompanied by an incident, phenomenon, remark or message all about or related to His life embedded in the four mysteries of the rosary. Thus, sometime, along the way of using this scriptural rosary prayer, one may utter in sheer wonder and reverence, "my Lord and my God!"

In the gospel of John, the writer ends the story by stating the purpose of writing the Gospel. This purpose is recorded in verses 30 and 31 of chapter 20.Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.Based on this ending, it stands to reason that for even the other Bible stories which are included in scripture, many details have been left out because the respective writers can say so much and no more. Have you ever wondered what details might have been left out of the Christmas narrative as we know them? It is that kind of curiosity which sparked the imaginative thoughts that brought these two Christmas musicals together. The characters were normal human beings with emotions. If you think of it, Joseph would have been jealous and angry when he thought that Mary was unfaithful to him. That kind of emotion might have led to a verbal showdown between the two until the angel appeared to Joseph directly. In turn, Mary must have been pretty distraught that Joseph kept accusing her wrongly and that he continued to question her integrity. Why was he going to break off the engagement? Did he not trust and have confidence in the innocent virgin? Both Mary and Joseph would have had parents too, so how did they come into the picture? What were their immediate thoughts when news of the miracle pregnancy unfolded? There might have been uncertainty and confusion, even among the people of God. One may even assume that there may have been gossips in that society who, like some persons in this day and age, just enjoyed embellishing stories which sounded juicy. At the other end of the spectrum, one wonders what the atmosphere may have been like in the palace of Herod. Was it all anger and jealousy which prevailed, or did the raw human emotions of nervousness and anxiety come to the fore?A Dream Come True and Believe Me, I Believe depicts the Christmas narrative fully as described in the Bible. However, some of these thoughts and questions come out very clearly during the plot. In a combination of poetry and drama, music and dance, the story with the added imaginative scenes unfolds with all these elements interwoven into one continuous narrative. The overall Christian message comes out clearly and very strongly toward the end of each musical, and while the plots may differ, they both carry the underlying theme of evangelism as persons are encouraged to believe in this Jesus and give their lives to Him.

It can assist parents and teachers teaching kids to read. The book is a teacher's aide. It is a study guide for a trip through the 26 letters of the English alphabet. It is a tool for parents and teachers, who are helping kids on their journey to reading. The book is also for adults, who are learning to read English, maybe as a second language. You know the joy of reading and you want to inspire it in others. Let's help our eager learners to break the alphabet code so they can read to you for a change, and also to themselves. And it's fun! Here are a few suggestions for using The Wilkie Reader.- Limit your lesson to One Letter a Day.- The book should be a Reward. Don't go through the pages when you or your student is feeling distracted or grumpy.- Forget the word "No." The reading game is a Praise Fest and there's no such thing as failure--just different rates of success.- Don't worry about capital letters. They're easy for to pick up later.- Always stop early before enthusiasm drops. Then your child will look forward to next time.- The English language breaks the rules often. Don't worry about it. When your child notices that "a" doesn't always go "aaa", that's great progress! Just tell him or her that some words don't follow the rules and let it go at that.By using the methods in this book, my youngsters were reading at ages three and four, and do you know what? They still are!

Dan McCrory's book, Capitalism Killed the Middle Class: 25 Ways the System is Rigged Against You, is part memoir, part history lesson, part cautionary tale. Dan published his novel You Will Forever Be My Always, to raise awareness about Parkinson's Disease. The book was a winner in the 2022 Los Angeles Book Festival in the wild card category because the judges apparently agreed that the book defies genre and that "literary fiction" seems at least partially descriptive. It has achieved a reputation as a very funny book and, possibly soon, a very funny series. Dan was published in the 2020 anthology of California's Best Emerging Poets and really took it heart. He now has written a poem about everything. He had two scripts reach quarter-finalist status in the NYC International Screenplay Awards. He has written for the glamorous telecom industry, has been a Hollywood publicist, has written political propaganda and advertising copy (yes, there is a difference), and has edited four books. He lives in Southern California. Dan is active in the National Writers Union, formerly as an officer and now as co-chair of the book division. He also volunteers with public radio station KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles as a field producer for the labor program, Working Voices. The Seed journeys into the deepest heart and soul of one artist facing the massive paranoia of injustice, economic free-fall, unimaginable chaos, and unsurvivable global war. New towers of Babel eclipse the culture and spirituality of the everyday everyman into depravity and dysfunction. But like his colossal Shakespearean portraits poised on the precipice of cataclysmic conquest, the towers crumble in Johnston's modest belief that truth and justice will prevail. By giving his subjects the dignity of art, Johnston advocates for the clarity and wonder of hand-tooled sculpture, the timeless industry of a master artist working in his studio by hand, on a human scale. He sows within himself and his spectators a yearning for the universal human value of labor, the work of art, the dignity of labor, and labor as art.

The Sail Needs the Wind has to do with what has occupied my thoughts for my entire adult life...and that is quite simply, life itself. How we move through its maze; how its essence enters us and how we deal with its moment to moment ¿ood and simply survive...and in no cursory way, thoughts about the Creator. I also have to ask, who are we...why are we, and where exactly are heaven and hell?Humanity is not easy and it appears we have little faith in ourselves... which I ¿nd unbelievably sad. We have been lulled into this state by the patronizing and the greedy and to some degree by those who would readily seek compromise to avoid meaningful collaboration. We have been in a state of war since our consciousness ¿owered, nothing has been gained, and we continue to believe, sans proof, that prayer will do more than just comfort the disparately praying soul.My notes are reactions to people and situations, both on the job and in personal relationships. I am not naive enough to believe that living is not complicated...and that everyone lighting just one little candle would create a brighter and more welcoming world. But I am also smart enough to know that retaliation never works; that at some point someone much brighter than anyone who exists today must say "no" no more and that offering the light and warmth of that one little candle may just start a revolution for the one thing that we so disparately want, but for the life of us cannot ¿nd...peace.
