Our news media seems to have daily stories of individuals who have been abused by clergy, church leaders, and even church organizations. Countless numbers of formerly faithful people avoid church because they were abused, while others, who are not religious participants, avoid experiencing faith communities because of what they have been hearing in news stories. How do clergy, church leaders, and congregations help in the healing of these abused people and assist them to move beyond the pain of abuse toward healing and even forgiveness?Although the names and places have been changed to protect the innocent, this is the true but tragic story of a Christian man who had been abused by both parents, who were elders in the church, but found enough healing to fight to keep his mother from being abused three decades later. It is a story of a woman who abused her son in response to her own abuse. It is a story of a Christian man, healed from abuse, who chose to be a rescuer instead of an abuser. It is a story of a Christian community uniting in prayer and action to support a son as he helped his mother escape from the evils of sexual abuse. This is a story of a son and his mother who walk out of the wilderness of abuse and into a better, safer, more prosperous place of healing, peace, and forgiveness.

Little Seed was the story God gave me as I studied the "Parable of the Sower" from the book of Matthew. As the words from the story unfolded on paper, it conveyed the responsibilities we have to grow where we are planted and to encourage others in their own growth journey. Little Seed's story also reflects my childhood memories of time in our family garden and on my grandparents' small farm. Our family spent many hours together planting seeds, pulling weeds, picking up rocks, watering, and harvesting. We also enjoyed the many tasty rewards of those labors together.

Have you ever wondered why in the Old Testament God wiped out an entire population in a global flood except for one family? Or why, when giving the land of Canaan to the children of Israel, He commanded the destruction of the entire Canaanite nation? Does this sound to you like a loving God, or does He seem more like a vengeful tyrant or egomaniac, demanding service and worship? On the other hand, there's the God of the New Testament--Jesus, the Messiah. He is loving and patient, caring and selfless--not at all like the God of the Old Testament, right? He even gave His life for the people He loves. So how do we reconcile this picture of God, as seen in the life of Jesus, with the picture of God in the Old Testament? Are there two different Gods? Or perhaps this shows two different sides of the same God--with the Old Testament displaying God's justice and vengeance toward the sinner, while the New Testament shows His mercy and forgiveness. In this book, the author seeks to offer the reader an alternative perspective, one that is biblically and historically founded in recorded Old Testament events, revealing God's unconditional love for His creation throughout the Old Testament. As we explore Old Testament stories, it should become quite clear that the God of the Old Testament is just as loving, patient, and longsuffering--if not more so--as the God of the New Testament, Jesus Christ Himself! As you review the evidence contained herein, you may be surprised that you come to the same conclusion, understanding the consistent and amazing love of God throughout the history...and the future of humankind.

The book of 2 Samuel covers the adult life of King David, a life full of unexpected events which had ripple effects throughout the forty years of his reign. Many people know only a few of the stories, but in this study guide, we will examine thirteen separate events, the people that were involved, and the end result. There are so many interesting people in 2 Samuel. Each person has strengths as well as weaknesses, which proves that they were real people. God makes sure to show the good and the bad things that happened in David's life so that we can learn from them and, hopefully, not repeat his mistakes in our own lives.Do you love God but feel that you have made too many mistakes in your life for God to ever use you to do something great? David was said to be a man after God's own heart, and yet he still made bad choices. This book proves that you can never make any mistake that God cannot forgive.God looks for people with willing hearts, not perfect people. Are you willing to hear what God has to say? If so, join me in studying the life of David, and I guarantee that God will speak to you!

OVERTHROWING THE EVIL SPIRIT OF SLEEPLESSNESS is a powerful and dynamic spiritual warfare book for everyone or anyone who has been held captive by this wicked and evil principality of witchcraft. The Bible is clear; it is through the power of knowledge that we will be delivered. This book offers powerful spiritual warfare knowledge and insights that are taken from the Word of God and guided by the Holy Spirit. It has been practiced by the author and has brought about total deliverance from what she thought would have been impossible. The evil spirit of sleeplessness has had its cruel arms around the author's life for such a long time. After years of sleeplessness and restlessness accompanied by other demons and their attacks, the author finally found deliverance. It was God's powerful warfare sword that cut the evil and deadly witchcraft spirit of sleeplessness out of Sweda's life and gave her victory over this evil principality, in the mighty name of Jesus the Christ. Through her search for help and her experiences, Sweda came to realize that millions of people throughout the world today are under the power and control of this evil spiritual being known as sleeplessness. Many are crying out for help and for a permanent solution, as the physical remedies are merely temporary relief for some people. This book explains her cries for help and how desperately she herself had sought what she thought was help--sleeping pills, medications, therapy, and even going to the enemy, Satan himself, ignorantly seeking anything that could help her to have or get some sleep. Sweda tells it all in the book. And it is her prayer that if you are attacked by the spirit of sleeplessness, you too will find permanent deliverance as you read through the pages of this book. Long ago, God spoke to the prophets about the events to come. The Bible foretold the rise and fall of kings and kingdoms. The Scriptures foretold the coming of the Messiah.Since Jesus came, many have believed in him. Now he is going to return. Jesus told his disciples the signs of his coming and what events would come to pass. These and other events are written in several books of the Bible. Are we living in the end times? Many people have looked at the Scriptures. Scholars have pondered the writings. Sorting it all out can be a challenge. It's like putting a puzzle together.Fortunately, there is a key that unlocks the mystery. Once a prophecy is fulfilled, it becomes history. Now the picture becomes easier to see when we look at the events in his story. The great puzzle is about the prophecies and the events, winding up to the end of times and the return of Jesus Christ.

In today's marriages, it is unfortunate that people seem to deny God and believe that their human standards alone are enough to keep the marriage going. In this book, the authors, Pastors Ade and Grace Okonrende, renowned marriage counsellors who have ministered worldwide, outlined in the simplest language how couples can stay together in unity and love to fulfill their God-given potentials.Having had the opportunity to read the original manuscript, I believe that church leaders and people from all walks of life will immensely benefit from reading this great book, which addresses issues that most writers on marriage failed to identify or address. It is very thrilling to realize that you can determine the sex of your unborn child. The procedure is clearly stated in this book as authenticated in the Bible. The authors have clearly demystified the challenges of determining the sex of your intended child. They applied this method to choose and raise one girl and three boys.--Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tette

This book offers a unique perspective on the history of the African American people without being offensive to others and offers this history from the perspective of being an African American living here in the United States of America. The book was written from the perspective of its author who was born in the late '50s, experienced adolescence from the late '60s to the early '70s entered adulthood in the middle '70s, which has given the author of this book, the entire spectrum of life here in America pre-integration (segregation), as well as living in the post-integration era. The struggles of African Americans were truly real, and this book offers a concise and rather limited overview of African American history.Nevertheless, the book offers pertinent and timely information still very much needed today. Being biblically inspired as well, this book contains both scripture and scriptural commentaries. Having the influence of the author's faith intertwined, this is a no-holds-barred reading. In addition, the book contains records of the likes of historical violence-filled voter suppression and the groups who initiated such violence against the African American voter, along with the movers and shakers of political empowerment for African Americans throughout this still-young history of African American in this country. The book contains historical essays on lynching, along with the achievements of African Americans as well, and despite all the roadblocks that have been put in from of them, African American continues to thrive. Finally, the book hopes and serves to motivate African Americans and others in an attempt for those to believe in those "better days" for themselves and others as well, here living in the United States of America.

Proper communication is too important to ignore and easier than you think to achieve. The problem is our education system has failed to give students the skills to adequately convey a given message. In the early 1900s, authors William Strunk and E.B. White used simple but powerful instruction on improving grammar and usage in their classic book, The Elements of Style. America the Grammar is the modern-day version. This book will help improve the grammar and communication skills of students in middle school, high school, and college whether in a traditional institution or homeschool, with clear examples based on history and strong, Judeo-Christian and American values. It will also help anyone who could use a refresher. Remember this: We do not learn grammar and communication to correct people when they make a mistake. We learn it because it is a necessary and powerful skill to succeed in life. Join me.

This book is about Bible stories, so whoever read them will read these stories of the Bible the right way, and learn them all the right way, and will be absolutely sure that it is the right way, and that way you won't never ever have to take no one else's words for it again, and have no doubt because it is completely undeniable unto you, and you can finally say that you know that Bible, that you have learned the Bible, that the Bible is not confusing to you anymore, it is not no parable and no mystery no more, and the whole entire Bible is true after all. These books are my notebooks from over the last sixteen years, and therefore, all of my books are only my notebooks, and so far as of now, I have written about ninety-five subject notebook tablets of many, many, many books of the Bible stories, like this one. And therefore, I have over thirty thousand pages of books upon books, and more than the world can contain, and way more than enough, more than any average person will read.

"You shouldn't feel like that" is a statement that demonstrates ignorance and unkindness, whether intentional or not. It invalidates the expression of the person revealing his or her inherent feelings and exploits that person's vulnerability. Research shows that this can result in mental health disorders, divorce, suicide, and even mass murders.Everyone has emotional experiences, and all the significant events of life include them; however, the causes and the consequences of emotions are among the least understood and underappreciated aspects of the human experience. Emotional integrity boldly intends to change that. This book presents conclusively that the disciplines of theology, social science, and medical science support the concept of emotional integrity and that the health and well-being of our society depends upon the understanding and acceptance of and adherence to this concept. This will not be an overnight transformation. Centuries of misunderstandings and decades of assertions based on them will need to be challenged until a broad enough base of theologians, educators, and mental health practitioners understand the concept of emotional integrity, accept it, and persuasively promote it. If they are successful, it is very likely that husbands and wives, parents and children, bosses and workers, friends and neighbors will experience healthy and fulfilled personal relationships.

I read a quote from Oral Roberts that said, "If you want to gain a better understanding of Jesus Christ, read the gospels and Acts three times in thirty days." So I did, and it changed me. Then I went through the gospels and read all the red letters twice. And it changed me even more. I realized that what I was being told in church was only a fraction of what the Lord truly says. It was then that I learned that heaven and salvation are not one and the same. It made me wonder why the church never preaches on Matthew 7:21:Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Why is that they don't preach on this passage? I think that is a very important statement from the Lord Jesus. Jesus also tells us, not once but twice, Many are called but few are chosen. (Matt. 20:16; Matt. 22:14) This got me thinking, only Christians call Jesus Lord, and many are called to go to church and serve the Lord, but few are chosen. That made me wonder if I would be chosen. Let me ask you this: Are you chosen? Are you promised to go to heaven? This book is a must read for every Christian.
