Childhood emotional abuse and neglect can result in permanent changes to the developing human brain. These changes in brain structure appear to be significant enough to potentially cause psychological and emotional problems in adulthood, such as psychological disorders and substance misuse.Around 14% of Americans report experiencing emotional abuse or neglect during their childhood.

The purpose of this case study research project is to understand the lived experience of Muslim women in the United States who wear/wore hijab and have been subjected to bigotry, hatred, and discrimination because of their faith, in other words,Muslim women who have been victims of Islamophobia. This study uses an interpretive psychoanalytic case study methodology (Tolleson, 1996) in order to explore and understand the experiences of the women participants

Questions about the nature of religion, law, nation, state and the relationships between these have exploded in the faces of societies around the globe under the pressure of the massiveshifts that heralded the modern era, and the case of Islam is no exception. While the case of Islam, like every case, is certainly unique, claims to the effect that Islam's modern crisis is moreacute than others are dog whistles (or normal, human whistles) attributing violent conflict in the Muslim world to a dangerous particularity of Islam. A broader view of history makes clear that other parts of the world deal with analogous issues and, if solutions to the conflicts are to be sought, there are other factors with a far more direct and observable effect that can be addressed. The severity of modern crises in the Muslim world have more to do with Western imperialism and the global North's power to define the terms of modern transformations, while the global South is expected to quickly adjust at the expense of their own internal stability and selfsufficiency.

Ineffective strategies and a lack of internal controls to address employee theft can negatively impact small businesses. For most small business owners impacted by employee theft, the loss of resources could be detrimental, and in some cases, force thebusiness closure. Grounded in Cressey's fraud triangle theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies successful small business owners use to deter employee theft behaviors. The participants comprised 8 small business owners in southeast Florida who successfully used strategic internal controls to deter employee theft and enhance employee trust in the workplace.

The rising global mean temperature due to the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration necessitates a shift to net-zero carbon emission energy systems.1 Decarbonization of the electric grid requires generation from renewable energy sources like solar radiation.2 The supply of energy from the sun is abundant; an hour of incident sunlight on Earth is enough to power the world for a year.3 However, electricity produced by solar photovoltaics is non-dispatchable and consequently the supply of solar energy is constrained by the intermittent nature of sunlight.4 Energy demand is also time varying with peak demand often occurring in the evening with low solar irradiance, necessitating for grid-scale energy storage to address the temporal mismatch between renewable energy supply and demand

What guides the decision-making process of individuals has been the focus of psychologists, theologians, and scientists since the beginning of time. Understanding the processes surrounding decision theories is critical in the development of products andservices destined for a target audience. Without proper application of decision theory throughout the design and development phases of a delivery, the chances of failure in achieving adoption could represent a significant loss of time, material, and resources. A global virtual team (GVT) members' inability to effectively build trust and communication can negatively impact organizational outcomes. Organizational leaders are concerned with team members' inability to build trust and communication, which is the leading cause of reduced productivity and efficiency levels within GVTs. Groundedin the social exchange theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies GVT leaders use to improve trust and communication among GVT members. The participants were 18 GVT business leaders from six organizations located in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Data were collected using semistructured interviews and a review of organizational documentation. Through thematic analysis, four themes were identified: (a) information sharing through transparency, (b) thecreation and iteration of best practices/strategies, (c) localization development, and (d)the development of cross-functional work tools. A key recommendation is for GVT leaders to define team meeting styles and frequencies. The implications for positive social change include the potential for organizations to increase human resources in other regions of the globe and support the local communities and economies of their workforce.

income inequality renders negative health consequences to all members of a society because in societies marked by income inequality, people involve themselves less in social and voluntary activities outside of the home. Moreover, the relationship between people's income and health levels intensifies among children of low social economic status, thereby worsening as these children age because the children receive more shocks to their health in forms such as chronic conditions and diseases requiring hospitalization; which then negatively affects their health as adults.

Since the 1960s, small businesses have created about two thirds of the new job growth in the United States (Dennis, 2001) and 44% survive at least four years (Headd,2003). Abrams (2006) suggests small business owners need to focus on success and not failure. Quite often business entrepreneurs are overworked and faced with limited funding. Statistically over 50% of all small business, which include supermarkets and grocery stores, fail to thrive in their respective industry for five years or longer, causing economic concerns to policy makers and unemployment rates.
