He has been nominated for the Carnegie Art Award and is represented in several significant international galleries, including Blum and Poe in the US, and in Denmark by Galleri Nicolai Wallner. Alexander Tovborg’s expressions is abstract with references to Oriental decorative art and medieval art. Across various forms of expression and themes, he creates recognizable motifs with religious, mythological, or historical content. By examining narratives from the past, Tovborg mirrors the current political and social situation. He recontextualizes classic archetypes and raises questions that lead to new selfawareness. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, and performance, conventional thinking is challenged, and entrenched beliefs are questioned.
