Tiger and his lady, Boston, move to the Everglades, into an old, hopefully, rat infested trailer. This tale chronicles his interactions with the wildlife. He backs carefully away from the rattlesnake and the Florida panther disrespects him before walking off. He is safe inside when the very rare crocodile walks by, scattering lubber grasshoppers. When he sees his first heron, he hides under the bed, and gets stuck.In "The Hidden Room", Tiger sulks when Boston leaves him alone for the night. He eats his food, naps, and plays with his toys. He stumbles through a concealed panel into a hidden room. There is no way out and nothing to eat and he falls asleep hoping he doesn't starve.He TP-s the bathroom in "The Lost Laptop", covering the floor with torn scraps of toilet paper and cat litter. Boston is not angry, but awed. Proud of his work, he gloats and listens to her tales of her day as he plots more mayhem.Tiger is outraged when a hawk steals his snack out from under his nose in "The Hawk and the Rock". He doesn't get any sympathy from Boston, because he's not supposed to hunt in the park.In "Family", Boston's seasonal position is over. Neither of them wants to leave the park or the people. Tiger is having fun. Boston has fallen in love. But they can't stay. Boston takes Tiger to the vet for certification so he can fly home and he gleefully terrifies the doctor. They stop to watch key deer and alligators on the way back and sit on the dock one last time.

Tiger continues his adventures and interactions with people and wildlife in five short stories. The cat with attitude always includes humorous comments with his version of activities.Two stories are in the Everglades, three are on his travels.Cumberland Island - ham on the hoof, walking turkeys, things which go bump in the night. And crab.Shakes, Shivers, and Jackpots - earth shakes, weres walk, slots payoff. And tuna and shrimp.Redwings - a ring of blackbirds, a friendly mangrove squirrel, a bird of prey. And tuna.Fort Jeff - a plane which is a boat, a building with no roof, walls with holes, and a jail cell with no door. And shrimp.Princess - an unlikely pair, stinky snakes, and a cat. And redfish.

Of course, you're leaving."e; Chris looked at Daffy for support. He shrugged his shoulders and his lips twitched before he spoke, "e;Might as well sit. We've been all through this with Annie. A number of times. She refuses to leave."e; Chris leaned down, looked into her face. "e;This is your life we're talking about, sweetie. You're not safe here."e; He held her hand tightly. She shook her head. "e;I'm not leaving my home. Prowitt is not running me out of my home. No one knows how long I'd have to be gone. Ryan and Daffy will keep me safe. They'll figure something out."e; She waved her free hand. "e;I'm staying. My life is here. I am not leaving."e; He wanted to shake her, convince her to go, but he could see her mind was made up. He rubbed his hand over his mouth and chin. Ryan and Daffy exchanged a look. "e;You don't go anywhere without backup."e; He looked over to Annie and Chris. Annie sighed. "e;But we have plans."e; "e;Don't care,"e; he said. "e;Those plans now include an extra person. Wherever you go."e; "e;Well, darn,"e; Annie said. She looked up at Chris. "e;I'm sorry. This isn't exactly how I planned your furlough."e; "e;Not your fault, sweetheart. And this isn't furlough. This is forever. I'm not leaving, I'm settling. How long?"e; he asked. "e;How long do we have to hide out?"e;"e;How about until we know you're safe?"e;

More humorous tales (with pictures) of the cat with attitude and his adventures in the Everglades. In Three Turkeys, he sticks close to Rae because she is cooking three turkeys and surely one is for him. They both take time out to watch the crazy reddish egret. In Big Birds he tracks down vultures in the backyard fighting over a black sock discovers some interesting flotsam. He Puzzles over a lizard and watches the rangers hunt in a pack when Boston takes him to work. And he discovers an injured man and a white heron on his way to the vet. Crows and bullets, cats and black olives make for a fun tale.
