Features: Personal study segments with homework to complete between 7 weeks of group sessions Leader helps to guide questions and discussions within small groups Teaching videos, approximately 30 minutes per session, available via redemption code printed in the Bible study book Explanations of the history and progression of spiritual disciplines from origins to present day along with their biblical roots Practical guidance and activities to live out the various spiritual disciplines at home Benefits: Demystify spiritual disciplines and be empowered to practice them as you draw closer to God. Understand how spiritual disciplines strengthen the Body of Christ, both in communities and individual lives. Reframe your perspective on rest and renewal. Video Sessions: Session One: Introduction (10:37)--Kelly introduces the study on spiritual disciplines and reminds us that these spiritual habits are foundational to our faith and provide fellowship with the living God. She points out that although practicing these disciplines will provide spiritual results, our purpose is not to get results, but to strengthen our relationship with the Father. Session Two: Study (28:28)--Kelly focuses her teaching in Session 2 on the discipline of Bible study. She digs into 2 Timothy 3 to show how the inspired Word of God is useful to teach, rebuke, correct, and train us so that we will be equipped to carry out the purposes of God. Session Three: Pray (36:15)--Prayer is the focus of the Session 3 video. Kelly walks us through some of Jesus' teaching on prayer to point out that we pray to a personal God who knows our needs and faithfully responds to His children. She reminds us that prayer is not just transactional, but relational. Session Four: Express (36:39) --Kelly unpacks the story of the woman who washes Jesus feet with her tears in Luke 7 to teach us about the discipline of worship. She emphasizes that like the woman in the story, we are to passionately worship Jesus with all that we are and have. Even in the midst of our pain, we are to recognize who He is and express our love to Him. Session Five: Quiet (36:28) --Quieting our hearts before God is the theme for this week of study, with Kelly focusing the Session 5 video teaching on Scripture meditation. She clarifies that this kind of meditation is not emptying our minds, but filling them with the Word of God and the presence of the Spirit. She challenges us to get past the distraction of our devices and busyness of our schedules to be still before the Lord and soak in His Word. Session Six: Simplify (29:07) --Kelly challenges to simplify our lives in the Session 6 video. She walks us through Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6 to remind us that we are to be laying up heavenly treasure rather than earthly treasure. She calls us to orient our lives around what really matters, to turn our focus away from what we think we need to what we really need, so that we're free to give, serve, and love as Jesus calls us to. Session Seven: Engage (40:20)--Kelly closes the study by focusing on how we are to engage with each other in the body of Christ. She unpacks a passage in Colossians 3 to emphasize that as the holy, chosen, called-out people of God we are to display to each other, and also to the world, the same character of love and grace that Jesus has expressed to us.
Trace the path of Joseph's life in the book of Genesis to observe how God's sovereignty reigns, even in our darkest moments. Learn to recognize when God is working during periods of waiting, trust God's plan when life doesn't make sense, and rest in the sufficiency of His presence in every circumstance. His provision is enough, His presence is constant, and His purpose is unstoppable. (8 sessions) Features: Leader helps to guide questions and discussions within small groups Personal study segments to complete between 8 weeks of group sessions Teaching videos, approximately 35 minutes per session, available via redemption code printed in the Bible study book Benefits: Place your hope in the God who is with you. Learn to trust God's purposes when life doesn't make sense. Recognize how God is working in your waiting. Rest in the sufficiency of God's presence in every circumstance. Video Sessions: Session 1: Set Apart (29:38)--Kelly sets the stage for the Finding God Faithful study by delving into Joseph's backstory. She takes a look at how Abraham, Joseph's great grandfather, was set apart by God for God's purposes. She reminds us that though some of Joseph's family history isn't pretty, God is sovereignly using all of it to tell His story. Session 2: The Unlikely Path of Blessing (29:38)--Kelly will creatively walk us through some of Joseph's most trying times as his brother's jealousy results in Joseph being trafficked to Egypt. But we'll see that God was always with Joseph, carrying out His purpose, fulfilling His promise. Session 3: Faithful in Brokenness (41:35)--This session finds Joseph in Egypt, serving Potiphar. Things seem to be going well for Joseph until false accusations lead to prison. Kelly will point out that Joseph's faithfulness to God stays true even in the broken times. The lessons learned in Joseph's suffering will help us face our own difficult days. Session 4: Faithful in Abundance (35:56)--We see Joseph delivered from prison by his God-given ability to interpret Pharaoh's dreams. Kelly will point out that Joseph quickly goes from the pit to the palace, but his faithfulness to God doesn't waver. We'll be challenged to faithfully use our abundant blessings from God for His purpose and glory. Session 5: Extravagant Mercy (36:19)--Kelly points out that mercy is the key word in this session. Jacob sends the brothers back to Egypt, reluctantly including Benjamin. He prays before they leave that "the man," Joseph, would be merciful to them, having no idea the depth of mercy needed for these brothers who sold "the man" into slavery. The mercy Joseph will extend foreshadows the extravagant mercy Jesus extends to all of us. Session 6: The Process of Forgiveness (35:18)--We relive one of the most tender moments in the Scripture as Joseph reveals his identity and forgives his brothers. Kelly will challenge us to see people through God's perspective and forgive as we have been forgiven. Session 7: A Redemption Story (35:08)--We learn the simple but profound truth--there is no redemption without a redeemer. We see Jacob bless Joseph's sons, including them in the covenant promise. As Kelly points out, this shows that God's redemption always exceeds our expectations and that there is no one too lost or too far gone. Session 8: A Faithful Finish (36:08)--We see Joseph assuring his nervous brothers with a profound statement: You planned evil against me; God planned it for good. Kelly points out that Joseph closed with a faithful finish, choosing throughout his life not to focus on his present circumstance but to trust the promises, goodness, and sovereignty of God.
Often, idols are obvious--money, power, fame. But subtler idols can sometimes take the form of sweet loved ones, Instagramable interiors, and busy seasons of ministry. But if your heart is prioritizing any of those pursuits before God, they are taking up space meant for Him alone. In this 8-session study, learn to identify the functional gods you are serving daily and the lies they tell. Only when you learn to dethrone modern-day idols can you pursue a deeper, more meaningful relationship with Jesus. Features: Interactive teaching videos approximately 20-25 minutes in length per session, available via redemption code printed in the Bible study book Leader helps to guide questions and discussions within small groups Personal study segments with homework to complete between 8 weeks of group sessions Recipes to help grow friendship and community within your small group Benefits: Stop wasting time on the temporal, false gods, and invest in the eternal, one true God. Recognize the lies behind false gods, and learn to identify the Truth. Dethrone your modern-day idols, and experience the abundant life in Christ. Video Sessions: Session 1: (9:06)--Kelly Minter welcomes us to the No Other Gods revised and expanded Bible study from the Amazon River. Kelly reminds us that an idol is anything we put in our hearts before God or in place of Him. Don't miss who God is for you. Session 2: (28:00)--Why does God long for us to be free from our gods and the things that steal our hearts from Him? After studying the Ten Commandments, we look at our hearts and at how false gods motivate us and also hold us back for being all God wants for us. Session 3: (26:00)--Why would we ever turn to anything less than Jesus? We often cover up our struggles instead of collapsing before the Lord and trusting Him. In this session, we see Hannah of the Old Testament collapse before the Lord and give Him all of herself and her son. Session 4: (28:30)--It is challenging to confront and contend with the idols and the lies that pull us away from God. The idea of our false gods is always better than the reality of them. We need to understand and know that the Lord really is better. Session 5: (32:50)--False gods leave us no hope but to drop our expectations. Learning from the examples of Jacob, Rachel, and Leah, we discover it is time to cease our striving after false gods that cannot satisfy our deepest needs and turn our affections only upon our one True God. Session 6: (23:40)--This week dives into Hebrews 11 and the walk of faith. Faith is believing that what God has called us to is infinitely better than what we are leaving behind. Session 7: (25:40)--We are looking for God to redeem us and to bring healing to our lives. However, he does not always bring those things in the way we would hope. Second 2 Kings 5 reminds us that God has His plans and purposes and they are not always what we would expect. Session 8: (33:40)--What Jesus desires for us is that we bear fruit. He set His followers apart to go and share the Gospel with others and bear quality fruit that is going to last. We bear much fruit when we remain in Christ and He remains in us.
