Struggling with Emotions! This book will help!""Thoughtful. Articulate. Essential!" - Alicia Heraz, Eng. PhD. Founder and CEO Emotions MatterWithout jargon, the Author explains the complexities of our mind and our emotions in a language that is accessible, insightful, pragmatic and genuinely helpful. In this exciting new book, internationally acclaimed expert in emotional and mental wellness, Jenny Florence, returns to her accessible and pragmatic formula: 7 Days.20 Minutes Reading a Day. Bite Sized Chapters.Minimal Time Commitment.Maximum Results.Anyone who has ever struggled with intense and overwhelming emotions at times of stress, duress and challenge will know how extraordinarily difficult it is to remain grounded in these moments, and what a challenge it is to remain confident, not only in our interactions with others but also in our belief in ourselves and in our feelings of self-worth, self-value and self-esteem. Mindfulness meets Emotional Awareness offers a pathway of insight and understanding into our most challenging emotional states, demonstrating that every emotion we have has a role to play in the development of a vibrant and thriving life."A step by step, low technology, high impact, guide to emotional awareness - a significant resource that really does create genuine opportunity for self-development and growth! The steps are clear and the processes simple." - Libby Alderson Chartered Fellow FCIPD. Organisational Coach and Supervisor. Learning Excellence Manager Each chapter contains an additional section of pragmatic invitations and exercises that are designed to integrate and expand emotional knowledge and awareness into everyday real-life situations. Self-awareness is often likened to the layers of an onion. Each time we apply a chapter to a particular situation, either for the first time or in returning again, the daily invitations are designed to enable another layer of emotional awareness to unfold. As we expand our awareness, we transform conceptual knowledge and information into a usable and practical emotional toolkit of personal empowerment. In changing our relationship with our most challenging emotions we create real and significant change in the immediacy of our own lives."It has been my privilege to walk alongside literally hundreds of people as they have journeyed from the chaos of living from an emotionally reactive position to a place of integrated living where their emotions fuel and feed their capacity to navigate their lives from a position of conscious, reflective and empowered choice. Indeed, the journey of my life has shown me time and again that our emotions play an absolutely integral role in our ability to heal, to grow and to thrive. "The collaboration of Mindfulness and Emotional Awareness creates a pathway of opportunity that transforms our perspective of previously challenging emotions into an experience of positive and insightful learning that supports us in navigating our lives successfully and in becoming the very best that we can be. "I know that my deepening ability to listen to my emotions and to consider every emotional state that I feel as 'valuable information' has created a way of living that has been radically life changing." - Jenny Florence

On the 21st of January 2006, a twelve-year-old girl called Antigone was astonished when she spotted a whale in the river Thames outside her house on Cheyne Walk in London.Later that evening the little girl travelled to Cornwall to stay with her aunt in a tiny castle overlooking the sea. While exploring the beach, she found a bronze lantern rolling in the waves, which she took back to her bedroom. That night she was awoken by hundreds of multi-coloured lights, darting around her room, and far off, over the sea, on the horizon.Mesmerised, the little girl headed out into the night where she found a small boat on the rocks below. She set sail for the lights and embarked on an epic adventure that was to be nothing short of extraordinary. For that night, Antigone crossed over the horizon to a land kept secret from the human world; an archipelago of magical islands beyond your wildest dreams, where unbelievable creatures live and wishes can come true... Antigone had entered the Islands of Fandye.
This book is an interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the main founding books of Hinduism. This book focuses more on the main teachings therein; it allows the reader to easily find, read and get the gist of the Bhagavad Gita with all the gems therein in much less time than it would take to read the whole book. The whole unabridged book is a delight to read but one needs time to decipher, digest and mull over it, its teachings, its poetic language and the many gems therein.
In 1935 it was every small boy's ambition to be an engine driver. Or was it? Tom Watkins, about to start work, isn't so sure, especially as his father, Fred, a top link driver, is something of a legend at the Acton Chalcote engine shed. For Fred, loyalty to his strict Welsh Baptist upbringing has given way to loyalty to the Great Western Railway. Forceful and dictatorial, Fred is in his element on the footplate of a steam engine, travelling at speed through the countryside at the head of a long line of chocolate and cream-coloured coaches full of passengers.'You're king of these wonderful machines. You're in control, you nurse it, you work with it, you let it know who's boss and it responds. It's a living thing.'Steam is, as Fred puts it, 'in the blood' as he can trace his family's ancestry right back to the building of the line in the 1830s.His assumption that his son will be proud to follow the family tradition is misplaced. Although Tom becomes a cleaner, the first rung on the ladder to become an engine driver, he doesn't share his father's passion nor his feelings for the Company. He takes the job because it is expected of him and because his father's personality makes any other option unthinkable. Tom is no rebel.Bitter conflict is bound to follow as Tom grows up in search of his own identity, and Fred, a proud and confident man at the peak of his profession and head of the family, has to face hard truths about his future.Another challenge comes when his daughter, Sylvia, an usherette at the local cinema, tries in her own way to free herself from the constraints of a highly prejudiced but well-meaning parent. Brought up in a railway town, Sylvia is determined not to marry a railwayman, having seen the effect on her mother of being married to someone who not only works unsocial hours but also has what amounts to an obsession with his job. Then she meets Dai Davies, an attractive Welshman who calls himself 'a failed poet and passed fireman'.Set against the background of life in and around the Great Western engine shed at Acton Chalcote: its highly individual characters, its evocative atmosphere, and the appeal of the steam engines themselves, those who enjoy family stories in a period setting as well as those with a passion for railways will love Steam in the Family.
This book is for those who want to-Learn from someone with 15 years of experience in property investment.-Understand how tenants can impact on your daily life.-Be prepared to deal with those who wish to profit from you as an investor.-Be informed about the little-publicised negatives of property investment. It is also suitable for those who just want to know what it is really like to be a property investor in the UK, investing in buy-to-let properties.I write this as someone who needed mortgage finance in order to invest in property. In fact, I had only £5,000 in the bank, which was not enough to start out in buy-to-let (BTL). However, by using mortgage money, I have been able to go on to buy over 40 properties in the last 15 years. This would have been more apart from the world financial crisis we had when mortgage lending availability, as a result, was reduced drastically for a period immediately afterwards. All the money in these properties is mortgaged money, so I have learnt to use the UK mortgage finance system in quite an advanced way to achieve this. My book All About Buy-to-Let Mortgages covers how I achieved this and what I learnt along the way. Now, in this book, I focus on the practicalities of Property Investment. If you are new to property investing, by carefully studying this book, you will soon be way ahead of those who are just going to learn by experience. In doing so, you will be much better prepared for what is awaiting you rather than just learning by experience, like I had to do. Studying the contents of this book and gaining a good understanding of the challenges involved in buy-to-let property investment will pay off financially for you in the end. Just learning by doing in anything almost always turns out to be expensive. For sure, we learn from our mistakes, however, it is much better to learn from the knowledge of others who have gone before us and made mistakes and discoveries which they can share for our benefit. It is also true to say that things have not stayed the same over the 15 years I have been investing in property, I have to say regrettably. However, in the property investment business, you have to keep adapting to the changes and keep in touch with the changes taking place. You can then adjust and adapt to the property investing climate at any particular time. In the UK, we currently have many rules and regulations that give us certain challenges which other countries may not have to face, where we are disadvantaged compared to property investors in those other countries. However, we also have some facilities in buy-to-let finance which are not available in most other countries, and this is mostly to our advantage compared to other countries (I have covered all of this in my book All About Buy-to-Let Mortgages). This book will equip you with the knowledge to work, either by yourself or with an investment partner, on getting the best property exposure to suit your personality and personal situation. This could easily save you a lot of pain compared to learning by experience alone. Be aware, as already stated, there are many books readily available on property investment that only emphasise the positives of being involved in it. This could be misleading, if you are only expecting good things to happen. There is, maybe unsurprisingly, very little information available about the challenges that property investors face. Of the information that can be found, often in the form of comments on social media, I have found these to be very selective in what they say and there are many gaps in the information. Here I reveal everything I was never told when I first went into property investment. Never told in books, never told on any courses I attended, but nevertheless I soon learned fast... I had to in order to survive!I give you here the benefit of that information in advance, at least you then won't be as shocked as I was.
