Tides of Change is a collection of poetry by Mark Tochen, a retired pediatrician and life-long writer. This book is dedicated to Mark's wife Dr. Helen Tochen, a pediatrician, hematologist, and blood-bank specialist throughout a distinguished medical career. Helen is Mark's mainstay and the mother of their two children. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's syndrome in 2016, and this book of poetry was written to honor Helen and for Mark to be her spokesman with family and friends. The poems make a narrative of love and loss, of fifty years of marriage vows renewed daily, and of Mark and Helen's unwavering and clear devotion to each other. Helen is Mark's Muse; she is his source of joy and love, a constant companion, the woman who reads his heart with the gift of perfect understanding.

Building Bridges is an anthology showcasing my journey into micro poetry, featuring my previously published haiku, tanka, and tanka prose. Within its pages, I explore small moments from my own backyard and childhood, drawing inspiration from the majestic snow-covered mountains and volcanoes in the North Cascades, as well as the towering giant trees that surround me. The ever-present view of the Puget Sound, which I witness daily while teaching young students, and the rhythmic ocean waves of the Pacific blue, further contribute to the tapestry of my poetic musings. It is in those quiet moments that I find myself crafting new songs. As a dedicated teacher, I have had the privilege of instructing students across various grades, including kindergarten, second grade, third grade, and special education. Beyond the classroom, my passions extend to writing, reading, yoga, photography, and spending time outdoors with my family. In 2013, I ventured into the realm of fiction with the publication of my middle-grade novel, 'Broken Bridges.' My writing journey has also led me to contribute to the education market and share a diverse collection of poetry and short stories. Currently residing in Washington state, I am accompanied by my beautiful wife, Jaci, and our two beloved kitties. Together, we cherish moments with my two children and three stepchildren. The title-Remarkable It Is-refers to the poet's calling to notice things that most of us take for granted (such as our breathing and our hearts beating) but that actually constitute the miracle of our being alive. These poems range from the playfully wistful, to the probingly thoughtful (about old age and the specter of mortality as well as our place in the universe), and the satirical (especially about contemporary politics and world events). The poems in this new collection reflect a "late life" outlook, but they also speak to perennial topics and experiences that readers of all ages should be able to relate to.

Dust of My Soul is the manifested essence of Roland Meyung's mind. This book contains forty six original poems, each showcasing another section of the author's mind. Dust of My Soul engages with the reader on an intimate level, pulling them close so they can fully understand the poetry inside. It prompts the reader to begin to question these same things about themselves, pushing to inspire positive change through the art inside."

After serving during the Vietnam War era, Mr. Woodward became a Paramedic in Honolulu, Hawaii. Because of this profession, he was able to support himself and travel extensively, visiting or living in forty-six countries, all the while keeping a journal of the whole fifteen-year adventure. Many of his stories and poems are derived from those journals. In addition to his poetry, Mr. Woodward has written two other works. His book, "Lights and Sirens, One Day in My Life as a Paramedic," and "Yard Sale Today," a small book about how to run your Yard Sale. Another book of poetry is in progress.

Chrysalis depicts my journey from depression, loss, and abuse to freedom and love through poetry. I wrote it during a time of great pain, change, and ultimately growth; my "chrysalis period." This book is largely free-verse, with a few structured poems sprinkled throughout. My wish is for this book to provide hope and healing to those who have suffered from depression or abuse, and show them that there is sunshine on the outside of your Chrysalis. About The Author - Though born in Utah, Carolina has never lived in one place longer than four years. This nomadic lifestyle has taken her to Texas, for now, working as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. While Carolina was originally an English major in college, she quickly switched to study Experience Design (with an Art History minor!) at Brigham Young University - a major (and minor!) that she does not use. Ironically, her scheduled life of balancing work, church, loved ones, and live music is often broken up by inspiration and the desperate search for a pen to write down new thoughts that will eventually become stories and poems. Maybe she should have stuck with the English major.

Jennifer Ayala is a Texan native, born in Big Spring, Texas. Jennifer's affinity for writing began as a young girl where she found it to be her most trusted outlet of therapy. Through writing, Jennifer believes that many repressed emotions can be regurgitated, ultimately giving the writer emotional freedom. Becoming a mother has been one of her greatest life's joys. Through her never give up attitude, Jennifer hopes that her children will learn resilience, perseverance, and the faith to always believe in themselves.
