Sappho is arguably one of the first famous poets in history. She composed nine books of poems and lyrics, and from that myriad of creativity, only one poem remains complete. The Poetry Of Philip Larkin: A Study In Long PerspectivesBy: S. N. PrasadThe present book is an innovative attempt to give the Philip Larkin criticism a new direction. Early critical writings on Larkin for the most part tried to show him as a provincial poet and his poetic imagination as of a middle-brow kind. However, soon some perceptive readers of his poetry found some of its real value, as a result of which he is now regarded as one of the major British post-modern poets. This book has tried to show that Philip Larkin in his poetry tries to see man in his present existential condition and he sees his future prospects as a species in very long perspectives and, in this respect, besides his many- faceted merit as a true poet, he can and should be seen in the company of great mainstream scientists, philosophers, creative writers and thinkers. Philip Larkin in his major poems aims at giving a therapeutic touch to the ailing human culture. This book has a long INTRODUCTION which tries to show the true origins of man, his physiology and his present psycho-social condition. Views of reputed creative writers, scientists, philosophers and thinkers have been referred to in this connection. In the three middle sections of the book, thirty of Larkin's poems taken from his three major volumes have been analyzed individually at some length. These analyses reveal some of the very important but hitherto unrevealed aspects of his poetry.About the Author"The author, S.N.Prasad, M.A., Ph.D. was a retired Professor of English, B.R.A.Bihar University, INDIA. He was a Prof at Sana University. He was Prof and HOD at Hodeida University, and a Republic of Yemen for a total period of over 15 years in several stints. He had published six papers-four in India, one in a British Journal (About Larkin, "Journal of the Philip Larkin Society) and one paper, written jointly with a colleague in Yemen, in an online journal."

We live under an illusion that we live in a world of harsh divisions. People don't want unity because we have an affinity for totalitarianism, because we have a common ideal, food, and security, and we identify as the victim and likewise identify a group of oppressors rather then any specific individual, so invite the tyrannical excess of our position and impose it on people because people don't normally care if it doesn't affect them and all the better if it benefits them. Ecofeminism and Pantheism has been abandoned by many philosophers and thinkers because of there lack of there inconsistencies and lack of identity, but these belief systems can lead to the synchronicity of opposites such as the masculine and the feminine, eastern and western religions, and republican and democrats. Ecofeminism and a Pantheism can orient us towards compassion and humility, which should be the foundation of our ethos. Animal cruelty, tribalism, religion, and atheism are psychological indicators of a suffering society. There is a correlation between how societies become cruel and societal erosion. The environment is the heart of the economy because of the resources it offers but the genocide of native animals and ecocide often coincide with a cruel society. Once a society degenerates into ignorance, resentment, betrayal, division, fragmentation, and corruption, then society will become cruel and become totalitarian and then it will eventually collapse. The source of psychological suffering and what leads to crime and wickedness is the fall from nature and the separation of the family household. The way that societies become cruel begin with betrayal, deception, and rejection and a societal indicator of this when we see isolation, alienation, and tyranny, and this is caused by family, friends, and the state. Because this resentment towards life and towards state accumulates over generations and is passed down through the form of childhood trauma. In other words, we have a non-ending cycle of resentful parents which leads them to be tyrannical, and this accumulates and makes up society, and then we make our children internalize the problems of society through shame dumping, blame shifting, worship and dogmatic intrusion. We do this because children are extensions of ourselves. All issues in society start in the family household.About the AuthorBryce Winn lives in Sacramento, California.
