This is a collection of connected stories about black female characters who are put through so much struggle and pain in life, yet keep fighting on, keep living and moving forward to find better days, no matter how hard things get or what is done to them. From being sexually abused, homeless, beaten and nearly killed, abandoned and hated for who they are, losing children and parents, being overcome with addiction and depression, these women and girls suffer through so much but somehow find ways to better their lives, to find that deeper strength in themselves and rise up, show the world who they truly are and achieve great things despite all their pain and struggle. They begin their journeys alone and suffering, despite who is around them, yet as their story grows, they find each other, becoming a powerful and loving family along the way.Their stories are an inspiration, truly showing the power of the black woman.
