Psalm 11:3 "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" What are the foundations in the church? We find the answer in Acts 2:42-47. Verse 42 establishes the pattern we need to follow which says; "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, prayer, fellowship and in breaking of bread." In a few words we can say: in the bible, in prayer, in fellowship and in worship. We must focus on these four as Jesus explains the need for foundations; 24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 "And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock." (Matt 7:24-25) The important thing about foundations is that they must not be moved and changed. In the church we need to be steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord.
