Gospel Prayer is a collection of original prayers keyed to texts and images for daily reading from the Gospels. The prayers incorporate new and old metaphors for God and use traditional and experimental forms of address to God. The work is not an anthology and the prayers are entirely the work of the author.The prayers focus on themes directly related to the Gospel reading of each day. The prayers are in Gospel order using the typical pericopes (the coherent sets of verses that frame a story or saying within the scriptures). The prayers are suitable for private meditation, small group meetings, Christian education classes, Bible study groups, daily prayer communities, for planners and leaders of public worship.Each entry includes the biblical citation, a summary statement, a thought-question, and the prayer.
