Bag om Hiding in Alaska
This story is about a modern-day Job--John Henson. John was a Christian man who spent his life earning the respect of his family, friends, and neighbors only to have all he had worked for destroyed by one simple act of greed. John worked with troubled teens. A young woman and her daughter devised a plan to extort money from John. The plan backfired but destroyed John's life--he wound up in the state penitentiary. The stress of it all killed John's lifelong friend and wife while he was in the penitentiary. John lost everything that he loved. When the self-righteous Warden of the prison John was in refused to honor the conditions of John's prison release, John's faith was tried again. When the Warden set a plan in motion to force John to register with the national registry as a sex offenders, John baulked. He had already lost his wife, his reputation, his friends and his life's work. In an effort to save what was left of his dignity he decides to run and hide in Alaska until his lawyer could straighten the mess out. Through it all, John never lost his faith. Although it was tested to the limits many times, He never gave up on God. Like Job, He lost everything but his faith in a loving God. In Alaska, God gave John back ten times what he had lost.
