There was something miraculous about the eyes of these safe furry critters, compared to her abusers eyes. All the animals radiated an intense healing love that helped reconstruct her broken-heart. Thes animals gave her a reason to get out of bed each morning and stood with her as she fought off the suicidal depression.
Animals, unlike people, never reminded her that she was odd and flawed. Their warm licks washed her tears away and cuddled close, so she would choose to live.
