George R. R. Martin

George Raymond Richard Martin (GRRM) er født i 1948, og er en amerikansk forfatter og manuskriptforfatter i genrerne fantasy, horror og science fiction. GRRM er naturligvis bedst kendt for den fantastiske bestseller bogserie 'A Song of Ice and Fire', som består af en række fantasy romaner, hvor HBO efterfølgende i 2007 købte rettighederne til at filmatisere bøgerne til deres dramatiske serie med titlen Game of Thrones. Bogserien er bedst kendt under navnet Game of Thrones, som er den engelske titel på den første bog i serien. GRRM fik i 1970 sin bachelorgrad i journalistik, hvor han året efter overbyggede uddannelsen med en kandidat i journalistik. GRRM fik allerede i en tidlig alder en særlig interesse i at skrive fortællinger, hvor mange andre allerede kort efter fik øjnene op for hans usædvanlige flotte talent, som siden har medført til en succesfuld karriere som forfatter. Han debuterede for første gang som sælgende forfatter i 1970 med science fiction romanen 'The Hero',..
