All of our relationships, no matter how messy, present us with a choice. In every relationship we can either be a life giver or a life taker. We can either pour out life into our relationships, regardless of the other person, or we can desperately cling to and aim to control our earthly relationships in hopes of gaining the joy and peace we crave.
