Life of a Caregiver - Luke Taylor - Bog

- My Way to Save her life

Bag om Life of a Caregiver

This book is written for a two- fold purpose: To honor my wife, Harriet Elizabeth Adams-Taylor, who died from Alzheimer's in 2019. Secondly, to provide facts and figures to caregivers for them to make wise decisions as to how their love ones will be taken take of. I was married to Harriet for 47-years and when she departed from me grief sat in but life must go on without the person I loved so dearly. The book is divided into three sections: Section A is how we met, our courtship and our marriage. Also, of how we blended our two different careers...hers US Army Civil Service and mine US Army. Being in the US Army took away a lot of time from being together but we over came everything through the years as we travelled from post to post and country to country. God blessed us with two great children, Eddie, who I adopted and Misty who was born while we were in Germany. When we both finally retired from the US Army Civil Service, we tried our hand in real estate in Florida during the "boom" in early 2000's. Later, we moved to Arizona and things begin to show up in her memory that were discouraging but I was in a denial state at that time. The "day of reckoning" came when the verbal test and the MRI showed Harriet had Alzheimer's dementia. I was devastated! Section B was my way of seeking out the natural help of doctors, neurologists and others to find a way to slow down this dreadful disease. I read books, newspapers, medical journals and watch TV to get some answers. None ever came. Since there was no cure in the natural state, I turned to the supernatural state of divine healing by Jesus. We traveled to a number of states after we left Arizona where healing ministers laid hands on her. In the process, we almost got killed with traveling to see healing ceremonies and other supernatural events. Finally, after all of the traveling and seeing the healing ministers I was so sure she was going to be healed but it just did not happen. As Harriet steadily grew worse, I had to resigned from some of my church duties to take care of her 24/7. Here last days took a toll on me as the caregiver when I was going through illnesses myself. I did not care about myself but only to render the best care for Harriet in her last days. When she got to the point she could not swallow, hardly eat, walk and other things, my goal was to take care of her to the time she drew her last breath in our house in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The final day came on 14 November 2019 when she passed. I was a nervous wreck but the Lord pulled me through it all...her death, the funeral and the burial. I thank God for my two Children, my brothers, my nieces and nephews, my friends and my church from the pastor down through the entire congregation who helped me in the grieving process. In Section C is about my grieving and then through prayer I met a most wonderful lady who loved me unconditionally and we were married on 30 MAY 2020. Today, I have peace, joy and happiness by meeting and marrying a great Christian Lady, Janet Juanita Butler Taylor. She and I are the happiest couple in the world because we put Jesus first in everything. This is a great book and it should be read by everyone to show what love really means in marriage and honoring those vows said by husband and wife. Tell others about this book. God bless.
