Not wanting to stay standing, she moved down the road toward the home she had left. The once white picket fence turned brown, and paint was chipping off. The yard was overgrown to a point. Opening the gate, it fell off the hinges. Stepping up to her door, Mayu took a deep breath. Her hands were shaking, but she needed to get this done with. Unlocking the door, she pushed it open. The smell and the sight before her made Mayu gag and step back. This was not going to be easy. She left everything the way it was when she escaped from her own house. She could smell the rotting food coming from the fridge and freezer. It was a good thing her home sat at the end of the street, and no one came near it, at least she hoped.
