Bag om Love Letter to My Soul Mate
The author is a professor of Pathology who in 1980 defected from totalitarian regime in Romania and moved as a political refugee to the United States. He has published his Memoirs and reviewing his life he noticed that it was marked by two important events: his marriage and his Iron Curtain break away. Considering the episodes of his life and that of his wife that led to the completion of these events he reaches the conclusion that they were dictated by an authority he calls destiny which he compares to a script that one follows many times unaware where it takes and what its final goals are. Everyone has a free will that can follow the destiny or take another route but this can lead to unpleasant consequences. He maintains that he and his wife were soul mates destined to meet and unite which implies that souls exist. He adopts the view that everyone has a sparkle that many deny, ignore, or just don't brighten up. Although this is a private letter the author has decided to make it public when he found out that they were far from being a unique couple of soul mates and so his life experience may provide take home tidbits to others.
