Having completed their pilgrimage (tirtha yatra) to Vrindavan, the author and Mr. Laray leave the sacred region of Braj and start traveling. Their journey takes them through Agra, Delhi, and Jaipur. They experience Diwali in Delhi's old city and perform Muslim prayer with the Sufis of Nizammuddin. Jon's brother in law Rajiv joins the group, William departs for the United States, and Jon and Rajiv prepare for a long journey that will take them across the length of India.
