Nahr Al-Bared (Cold River) - Bog

Bag om Nahr Al-Bared (Cold River)

The true story of one Palestinian and his extended family against the backdrop of historical events from 1948 to the present day. The author describes the fate of her husband's family, which is not only the fate of a particular family, but represents the fate of all Palestinians, a people who still bear the burden of a nation sacrificed and forgotten by the outside world. We can none of us choose when, where or to whom we are born. To be born a Palestinian is to be doomed to life as a citizen with limited or no rights, a person without a home, one who is never welcome and whose country now belongs to someone else. But despite being "branded" in this way, the same universal needs apply: to live life and everything that comes with living it - go to school, learn, fall in love, get married, have children, work, enjoy the little everyday things, and finally part from loved ones with dignity and leave this world in the hope that life for the generations to come will be lived under better conditions.
