Bag om Oh, What a Trip!
The exciting and humorous stories about a boy following his passions which lead to excellent adventures that most people would never do. If you want excellent memories, you have to have excellent adventures.
Jeff Rohr, from a young age, loved the outdoors. He built a canoe with his father at the age of 12 and spent his life guiding people in Canada and the US. The other passion he also obtained from his father was the love of music. He taught piano, played professedly, and to this day is a singer-songwriter.
At age 19, Jeff and his brother made their first canoe trip in Canada, and from then on, he has paddled thousands of miles in the US and Canada. Here are a few of the rivers in Ontario, Manitoba, and the Yukon. The Mississagi, Missinaibi. Pipestone, Gull, Albany, Ogoki, Bloodvein, a first descent on the Seal River ending at the town of Churchill and the South Macmillan River in the Yukon.
In 1981 he met his wife Marcia, the love of his life and excellent canoe partner. In 1983 they founded Rohr's Wilderness Tours guiding people on canoe trips, wilderness, and international adventures.
In 1992, they found a great 40 acres on the Headwaters of the Wisconsin River and began to build a campground and livery, which now has 47 beautiful sites, accommodating sites for all. Jeff continues to teach, and Marcia is now an excellent guide!
It has not been all roses for the Rohr's. Their daughter Callie was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age seven and died after a two- and half-year battle five days before her tenth birthday. The Rohr's have now created the Callie Rohr Foundation, which has donated well over $200,000.00 to find a cure. They host several events in the summer to raise money, including 2-disc golf tournaments on their property and a 14-mile canoe and kayak race. If you are interested in helping find a cure, you can go to their website or contact them directly. www.RWTCanoe.com and info@rwtcanoe.com
