""Oracles of Reason"" is a philosophical treatise written by Charles Blount in the late 17th century. In this book, Blount argues for the supremacy of reason over religious dogma and superstition. He critiques the Bible and other religious texts, arguing that they are inconsistent and irrational. Blount also explores the nature of God, arguing that a belief in a deity is unnecessary for a moral and ethical life. The book was controversial at the time of its publication and was banned by the English government. However, it has since been recognized as an important work in the history of freethought and rationalism.1693.
