Orphan of Infamy - Robert Scott - Bog

- Based on a True Story

Bag om Orphan of Infamy

There are many war stories told of the long years of World War II. These are stories of heroism, tyranny, atrocities, pain, courage and those of human endurance, pride and survival. In Orphan of Infamy, Robert Scott explores these factors as they apply to a small village in (then) Czechoslovakia. The trials of the Czech villagers began in 1938 when they were caught between the pincers of the great powers. Abandoned by their allies, they found themselves pawns in the great game of conquest launched by Nazi Germany in its quest for empire. Join Robert as he relays the events that took place in the village of LIdice and the massacre of its people. This is a story of hardship and a story of triumph. It is a story of resistance to tyranny and the cost of freedom, and the story of a child who survives the massacre and the search for her mother who might have survived the butchery of Ravensbruck. Robert Scott served briefly in the Canadian Army and worked later for major industry as publications manager. He earned graduate degrees in English and History and held the position of Professor of Rhetoric and Technical Communication for twenty-five years. He held teaching positions in Canada, the Czech Republic and Singapore. He and his wife, Vicki, live in Sechelt, British Columbia.
