This work was translated & diligently compared with the original text & former translations; more plain, smooth & agreeable to the text than any before: allowed by the authority of the General Assembly of the Kirk of Scotland, and appointed to be sung in congregations & families, with notes exhibiting the connection, explaining the sense, and for directing & animating the devotion, to which are added translations & paraphrases in verse of several passages of sacred scripture with notes, explanatory & devotional.
