Bag om Pure Christianity
I am writing this to those who call themselves Christians, redeemed by the belief in the coming, dying, and rising of Jesus, and the understanding that he is Lord-of the same nature and with the same authority of God-and the ap¬pointed judge of humanity's actions - realized and unre¬alized. An incorrect understanding of God's Lordship, Je¬sus's purpose, and right action in response to God's grace will lead us away from true faith. As dangerous to incorrect thought is correct thinking about God without a continual return to remember his grace. To identify oneself as Chris¬tian is to continue to return to the grace of Jesus's sacrifice, which drew us to God in the first place. I am not writing to say that without this continual return to the truth we are like someone who had some water two days ago and noth¬ing to drink since. We quickly become unsatisfied with God and if we do not continue to drink him into our lives, to satisfy our thirst, we will die very quickly with water on our minds and in our sight wondering how things would be so much different if we were to just have had a drink.
