On long train journeys and in idle moments many people read books, newspapers, do crosswords, or other puzzles, and in more recent times stare at the screens of mobile phones, laptops or computer tablets. On such journeys and in odd idle moments I composed rhymes, ditties, and dare I call them poems to pass the time. And for what they are worth here are some of them:
