Bag om Rig Veda Revealed
Originally viewed as a religious text, the Rig Veda is found to throw light on the affinity between the Aryans and proto-Europeans. A common terminology Indo-European has emerged to trace and identify the common ancestral homeland of these communities. The main factor that links these communities together is their language. Until some decades before it was thought that Vedic language was the mother of all Indo-European languages. However with further research in the field of linguistics and philology, it is found that the Vedic language is one of the sister languages of the Indo-European family of languages. Now it is found that Hittite is the oldest in that family. Nevertheless this Veda is the oldest living literature of the world which throws light on the culture of the Aryans. The book discusses about twenty themes that are found to occupy great space in the Rig Veda. The book approaches the topics in a direct probing manner but not with the sole aim of praising every word of the Veda.
