, I began researching people considered great thinkers throughout the ages. I found that they all seemed to share a common thread of wisdom. How did they come to this knowledge? I have no proof, but I suspect they all possessed a knowing from God or the Universe itself. The "knowing" of these sages can guide us if only we can overcome our hubris, the part of our mind that thinks, "we know it all." Or perhaps by reading about their life experiences and considering their advice, we can avoid some of the pitfalls that life presented to them.
