Bag om Sins in the Silence
LEAHJake has managed to pull me out of my apartment for a day of socializing when he gets a call for help. I sit in the car and watch the events unfold, and I know Jake cannot take on this case alone. When I insist on joining him, it's not to lend my expertise as someone who reads people, but as a friend who knows this case hits a little too close to home for him, and Jake will need me as his anchor and sounding board. And if he needs to hold me a time or two to get through it... then I will let that happen as well.
JAKEI admitted to myself how I feel for Leah a long time ago and accepted that she was too guarded to see how she really felt about me. But when she demands to be there for me on a case with a broken little boy, a terrified mother, and a hulking father with anger issues, it's hard to remind myself that Leah and I are just friends, and that when I hold her, it's the only kind of physical contact I'll every have with her. As this case presses every one of my buttons, I recall why I love Leah, and why we can only ever be friends.
