This children's narrative nonfiction story about "Rose", was written from the author's memories of one very special childhood summer.

Rose is nine years old-almost ten-when she spends her first summer without her parents at her grandparents' lakeshore cabin. Along with their cherished dog, Goose, Rose spends time with her cousin and makes a new friend.
